Assuming Ingram does the right thing and fires our LOSER coach, what options are available?

Andy Kennedy is an obvious name. Mike Anderson hasn’t had too much success at Arkansas, would be nice if he was on the market...

Mike Anderson will never come back. Ever.

Ingram isn't going to do anything. Pray that if we're here again next year (CBI or nothing) that Ehsan won't be kept on. I have no confidence in anyone at UAB outside the football program (minor sports excluded).

I don't expect either Alabama BB program to fire their respective coach in spite of painful losses tonight (one at home). Each BBHC will likely get at least one more season unless "deep pocket boosters" get upset enough to pay the big bucks for a change.

RE: Coaching search
We got the cash together to reward Coach Clark and his staff. That was rightfully the priority so Ingram probably thinks that's all we can do this school year. He could very well be right so I always add that caveat when I say we should make a change. Sometimes you just can't afford to do everything you need to do all at once. Financial reality bites.

OR Ingram could just be a dumb***.

RE: Coaching search
I know this is a radical idea and it will never happen, but unless there's a possibility of adding some big time home games or putting together a schedule that can possibly net an at large next season, then I'm all in on this team playing as many "buy" games as possible and sacrificing our record and upsetting season ticket holders to go on the road to play as many good teams as possible. We gain nothing by playing a bunch of crappy teams at home in front of 1500 fans.

Monmouth did this a few years ago and it nearly got them in the tournament. Of course, you have to win some of these games.

RE: Coaching search
Im trying to imagine this team next year without Sullivan and Perry winning more games than this year and I just cant see it, unless there is a late signee thats a home run. Next year we really pay the price for losing the kid that abandoned us for Memphis. So I think next year looks painfully similar to this year, maybe worse. Did you see the assist margin in the game tonight? This late in the season that number tells a story that is not at all encouraging. I like Ensan. He will probably be a very good coach in about five years, but I think he was promoted too soon and we are paying for his education with inconsistent mediocrity on the court, and will continue to do so for several more years.

The late class has to be quality or our roster will be swiss cheese with all the holes. No projects, all contributors.

RE: Coaching search
I will refer back to my earlier post in another thread. Mark will have to weigh the upfront costs of a change against the potential losses of doing nothing. Again, he is privy to information I'm not and knows the 5 year strategic plan (if there is one).

I just dont see us making a change. Eshan is what he is. His teams consistently and predictably leave good shooters open on defense, and have poor positioning & spacing on offense. The best we can hope for at this point is that there are changes on the staff and that those new assistants can bring some order to the team, but i dont see that happening either.

Yup. So we're ****** for at least another year. He'll probably get another year extension this summer for reaching "the post-season".

We're gonna need that sweet curtain hook up from CUSA.
