Auburn wins SEC Basketball Championship with beatdown of UTK
I know comparative scores are not always valid measurements, but how did UAB"s result match up in Auburn's season record?

those tournament for those richer conference are a joke ,,,,it is a way to make bad team like florida , ol miss or miss st or alabama who can barely play over 500 and rarely win a game away from home when this season his important for the good team
Look every year some good for rich conference lose to buddle conference team at the end of the season or at the beginning of the conference tournament ,,,more teams to the dance = more $$$$ for the conference

Auburn is now 26-9. They beat UAB in OT, 75-71 on Dec. 15th. Auburn only lost two OOC games - NCSU (32) and Duke (3). According to KenPom, UAB is ranked 148th. Auburn’s worst loss was to South Carolina, who are ranked 73rd. If Auburn had lost to UAB, it would have been their worst loss of the season by far. However, UAB would have had a higher ranking than 148.
In that game against Auburn, at the BJCC, Auburn was 27-34 from the free throw line (79.4%). UAB was 6-11 (54.5%). Yes, Auburn took 23 more free throws than UAB, although UAB was likely fouling at the end.
Auburn shoots free throws at 71.6%. UAB shot free throws at 67.0%.
Shaq’s career NBA free throw percentage is 52.7%. UAB shot 46.2% in the final game against ODU.

Tonight in the NCAA Tournament, Auburn is up on KANSAS 51-25 at the half. They are saying that is the largest point deficit for Kansas in NCAA tournament history.

Pearl was a great hire. AU bball was stagnant and irrelevant (sounds familiar), so they went with the high-risk, high-reward option. Looked like it might blow up in their face but it didn't. Now they are basking in the results.
**** Auburn. I pull for them to lose every game same as all the other SEC teams. Makes me want to puke to see them in the Sweet 16.

Yup. Both programs are as dirty as their average fans double wide. My second favorite team is always who is playing them.

So Pearl wasn't a great hire? I know UAB wouldn't go in that direction but for AU, he was a great hire. By attendance, by record, and now by NCAA wins, it's a big success. If you say AU has lost self-respect, they didn't have any in the first place.

Pearl was a great hire for Auburn the same way Calipari was a great hire for Kentucky (by attendance, by record, by wins)
For me, they are both great examples of everything wrong with college athletics.
I guess it depends on how you choose to look at things

RE: Auburn wins SEC Basketball Championship with beatdown of UTK
UAB's athletic administration considered a moral compromise needed to keep Cousins and the players thought to want to play on his college team. The AD's decision to take the moral high road has brought the two programs to their present situation, and led to those players going with the Memphis BBHC on to Kentucky. Each of the three involved programs can look back on those choices and decide on the long term wisdom of their actions.

I could have simplified the post by calling administrators harsh names or making strident accusations of stupidity, and thereby making it easier for some to comprehend. I left final judgement up to the reader based on the outcome of today. Where are those three programs today?

Perhaps you don't like the answers to my questions so you make personal attack your retort.
