At least it's close. On to Shaka Smart vs Texas if we win.

RE: NIT Projections
Xavier finished tied for 3rd in the Big East with an overall record of 18-15 (9-9). The Musketeers have won the last 7 of their 9 games.

RE: NIT Projections
Last year's NIT champion, Penn State finished this year 14-18 overall (7-13 Big 10). So it didn't do much for them, if anything in terms of future success. But better to win the damn thing than bow out in the 1st round like the last 3 times UT played in the NIT.

*In 1999, we lost to Xavier at home in the 1st round of the NIT, 84-86.

RE: NIT Projections
Beat Xavier and give Texas a close game and maybe, sort of, this season wasn’t a waste...

UT must have put the heat on the MAC. I'm surprised. Definitely going down to the game.

Some bubble teams has worse NETS than us. We would have been on the first 4 or next 4 out list had we made the title game. A 6 seed seems right. Every team with a lower seed than us was an auto bid from a league who won the regular season. I don't think we needed to put heat on anyone, but we did barely get in. Personally I would have declined it... A home game doesn't seem likely down the stretch. Beating Xavier is nice for recruiting though? I'll be watching and cheering.

Why do you say that? UT had a higher NET ranking than 2 NCAA At-LArge Bids, and higher ranking than NIT teams seeded higher than UT.

RE: NIT Projections
Excited to see Navigato get a chance to lead the MAC in career 3 point shots, until Dileo blow the record away next year.
