Sometimes those people's faith is just lacking, and thus they put that faith in men instead.
I had another thread recently in the religious forum about biblical apologetics and educating the youth and churches not just on what we believe but WHY we believe. What is our evidence for our faith.
a·pol·o·get·ics
/əˌpäləˈjediks/
noun
plural noun: apologetics
- reasoned arguments or writings in justification of something, typically a theory or religious doctrine.
Nothing is more effective in strengthening a persons faith and removing doubt like examining the evidence we have of the vitality of the bible. No other religion on earth can even remotely give the evidence and facts we can. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE. We are even told in the NT that we should heed the words of the prophets, that they can strengthen our faith tremendously and that was their purpose all along. The NT also tells us we should be prepared to give an answer as the reason for our faith.
Our churches today do not teach biblical apologetics at all, and most Christians are woefully uneducated on the subject. They are totally unprepared to answer secular critics on WHY we believe, so they just say "trust in Jesus". We do trust in Jesus, but that is not a convincing answer for those who have doubts and were raised up in our secular educational system that have brainwashed them in atheism.
And its hard to get educated on these things if you are totally dependent on others to read the bible for you and too busy wrapped up in politics, movies, TV, games and social media to take time to study apologetics and the bible.
There are totally UNDENIABLE reasons and facts we can give and point to, but most are simply uneducated on these things.
