It makes perfect sense dude was not prepared to play at the beginning of the season and as the season war on he got better at the end of the season he was dominating in practice but there’s no point in taking the guys red shirt off basically wasting an entire year for the kid. I look at three guys we can count on in my opinion and one that’s developing we better get some outside shooters if a big man they can play falls in our lap so be it

Still doesn't make sense. How can a guy go from not being ready to even play spot minutes inside (that we desperately needed), to then dominating in practice? An out-of-shape dominating presence would have been one hell of a help off the bench in December. By March he could have been absolutely huge. More likely the kid is just raw like Pearson. Both kids got on campus and Pearson was more in game shape so Jude red-shirted. They both are big, athletic kids that do have upside. Expecting either to step into a starting role is a bigger gamble than we should take. Did Tamell look like he was ready to step into the lineup? Have to look ahead and sign some experience down there or we are another injury (Mak or an already hurt Butler) from disaster, again.

Really not trying to be argumentative. I think if Ehsan stays then this late period is absolutely critical to him and our team. Roster management has been my biggest beef since the Haase/Ehsan era began. Throw sideline and game prep out. If we don't fill our glaring roster needs then Ehsan can coach up a storm and UAB will still stay home.

Well because he improved his stamina by hard work during the season. I’m not making this up. Jeez

Completely agree that this year recruiting is critical. If he hits it right we can be conference champions. If he does it he will be looking for a job next season

I admit, I'm cynical when it comes to our basketball program, particularly recruiting. I'm at the Show Me stage and I have to see it against some real competition. If there was a CUSA Least Ready To Play team, Pearson would have been on it. He was athletic but completely lost offensively. Not at the same skill level of our previous recruits inside (maybe Smallwood).

We bring some pieces back but not enough on their own to break through. I actually liked a good bit of what I saw coaching wise in the later part of the season but these next few spots have to be real quality regardless. No projects or works in progress.

If Ehsan and staff really come through, I could change my mind about him. I love some of the kids we have coming back but I did when I supported him for the job the first time. I think that was a mistake on my part but live and learn.

Full disclosure - I wrote Mark Ingram on Ehsan's behalf. I still like him.

I heard he was not and a step slow but I don’t talk to Phil for math class or whoever.

I think a 5th year big would be a perfect fit with our younguns being a little too Green. Also add a juco inside. Gonna need McCoy and Hurtado's schollys. It sucks but part of the business. We need the perimeter production and we don't have the tools yet.
