1:22 left now, Tops up 61-51, some confusion about which Topper is shooting FTs.

USM chokes harder than any school in America outside of Louisiana Tech.

That said, if we can get some turnovers/transition buckets and not miss 3-4 layups like we seemingly do every game (I'm talking to you, Cortez Edwards), that will help a bunch.

Also, LHB has to stay out of foul trouble.

Close to 20 turnovers, giving up 13 offensive rebounds, 34-8 free throw disparity, 4 missed layups.

That's the game.

I don't like putting in the subs with 40 seconds left. Keep the ball handlers and FT shooters on the floor please.

What a terrible performance the last 8 minutes of the game. Airballs, turnovers, bad defense. Good game WKU.

Some of those were at the very end when USM was extending the game (12 attempts from 1:22 on). We finally got back to playing aggressive and getting to the line in this one though. The more surprising stat to me is that Bassey didn't attempt a FT today.

Congrats to the Red Blobs. I didnt think our guards handled the physical play very well at all. We knew rebounding and second chance points would be a big advantage for WKU. Turnovers really did us in. I also thought our guys looked worn out at times. We had the tougher game last night and smaller players are forced to use more energy battling bigger and stronger players. We had some good looks down the stretch, but the legs weren't there. WKU was the much better team today. Wish our guys had played better. Credit WKU's athleticism for a lot of that, though.

Thanks for class post. Your guys never quit. The way your guys shoot always give a puncher chance. I think it was turnovers and rebounding is what got you today.plus we finally seem to b very focused on defense these days. Unusual stat which I've never seen before. You guys had zero second chance points.

Congrats Toppers. No doubt you had the better team this year. I am proud that Sadler has brought us so far from the pit Tyndall has dug for us. I will be pulling for you to take it all.

Yeah, we matched up bad. We had the guards. We just lack the bigs right now. I like what we have coming back. Griffin, however, is irreplaceable. Win it all WKU!

Agreed. Savage shoots over 80% compared to Banton's just under 60% at the line.

Also, whenever Stanz calls a timeout just before the half to draw up a play....has it EVER worked in getting a bucket?"

I don't blame stans for that. He drew up a play to feed Bassey out of a time out, the opening was there and our guards just held the ball. I saw Rick losing his mind over it on the sideline.
