What the **** does that have to do with anything? We've also beaten you and ODU this year. Marshall was rolling and rolled right up to the end of this game. Turned a 50 point loss to them into a nailbiter for 98% of the game. Nothing to hang our heads about. You've got plenty...start with being a douchebag.
Yikes, did I touch a nerve? It turns out when you play a bunch of competition that you are better than and beat them, you aren’t rolling. All the pod 1 teams in the final four. Get to the sidelines like the rest of the pods. Bragging about beating a team game 2 of conference play and saying “well we still lost, but at least it wasn’t by 50!” is about the most Marshall thing ever. Hey, at least you have the all time cusa leading scorer. In terms of Marshall basketball history, that’s damn near like a trophy. Better luck next year.
We were playing good ball, USM is better than you think pal. They can beat anyone, no shame in losing to them.

RE: Southern Miss vs Marshall
Congratz Southern Miss, now go cut down the nets.
I believe that D'Antoni will have Marshall ready to play next year post Elmore and Burks. Before I hear someone say no one can replace Elmore, I agree, Elmore isn't a player you get every 10-15 years. Ive seen those come though Huntington in John Taft, Tamar Slay, DeAndre Kane and others. Elmore is more elusive, he is a generational player. A once every 35-40 year player. The last player I personally seen at the Henderson Center like Elmore was Skip Henderson.
I do believe that Dan will be able to teach the new group to play without Elmore, Burks and Watson who played well in his year and half at Marshall.
Marshall had 2 players redshirt this year. Cam Brooks-Harris and Jeremy Dillon. Think Taeivon Kinsey when you hear Brooks-Harris name, he may have just as much hop than Kinsey does if not more. I think once Dillon gets his feet under him he can be a CJ Burks type of player.
We aldo have 1 signed so far for next year in Dajour Rucker. Who knows if Rucker will play next year but as far as comparisons then think of a bigger Ryan Taylor at 6'6 and a much higher motor that never takes plays off. Marshall also has a verbal commitment but he hasn't signed yet and Marshall had a recruit on campus for the last game of the season that would fit D'Antoni's system.
My guess for the starting line up next year:
Jarrod West
Jannson Williams
Taevion Kinsey
Darius George
Iran Bennett/Jeremy Dillon (Depending on who we play early on)

RE: Southern Miss vs Marshall
Refs didn't cost us the game. but they sure did swallow their whistle for S. Miss on some similar calls they called against Marshall. With that being what beat us tonight was this:
1. An All Conference Senior (Not Elmore) played one of his worse games ever.
2. Doc just flat out knows how to coach against Danny.
3. Marshall looked gassed in the final minutes. IMHO, One team subbed alot the other did not.
4. Southern Miss is the better team.
Good luck tomorrow. Coaching and team goes to Southern Miss, and talent favors WKU.

we're gonna have our hands full of Bassey and corp. tomorrow....should be another good one!
We’re gonna need more than 4 minutes from Rowe (like he had in the Marshall game) if we’re going to hang with Bassey and WKU. Rowe won’t win us the game but we’ll need the body support so that we aren’t as gassed the last 10 minutes of the game.

Great game between two solid teams. If MU fan wants to point to anything, this former coach would say the boards made the difference. I bet we came close to doubling up Marshall on rebounds. USM blocked out well and crashed hard with the help. MU seemed content too many times to stand and watch their shots.
USM out rebounded Marshall 39-20 with a 6-1 margin on the offensive boards so definitely agree that was a key contributor.

Did you miss where USM missed 2 open dunks and 3-4 easy layups?
There's 5-6 possessions we lost. So we were even.
Marshall was only whistled 5 more times, 2-3 of those were in the final minute.
Your point doesnt really hold up.
Oh, and can't forget this:
Blame this on the refs, too....

Looking forward to the game tomorrow. I don’t see us winning especially since it’s so hard to win 3 in a season.

That whole we aren’t going to miss Peneva really hurts when you have zero inside presence.

We made the title game 2 years ago from the 6th spot and won the title last year from the 4 spot. I have confidence that Dan will have us ready to play next year also.

Pod 1, Pod 2, or Pod 3?
Only thing I know about ODU next season is that if Jeff is still coaching them it won't matter too much who they have. They will still defend their goal like a hungry dog defends his food dish.
They will turn every game into an ugly rock fight, and they like rock fights. Odds are in their favor that they will finish in Pod 1.

You're an idiot. The difference is the top of pod 2 played the top of pod 1 and the game was basically tied under three minutes. You played the bottom of pod 2 and had them by 20 or more the whole game till you rested players. There was a huge difference in the way we were playing in the pod games and anyone from pod 2 can beat anyone from pod 1 on any given day. Just because they didn't isn't proof to the contrary and you know it. 4 games in the pod doesn't change our schedule which was harder than yours and it doesn't change the fact that we split with you and beat ODU at ODU.
But more importantly you came here talking **** about something you had no stake in, were completely wrong in your assessment, and made an ass of yourself, not that you weren't already. Your whole fan base thought you were going to lose, yesterday. The whole thread on the first bye team to lose was filled with WKU fans saying it would be them. Now that you beat up on a bad team you think you're hot ****? We have confidence because we were on a winning streak including @LaTech who just gave ODU all they could handle in the tournament. If you think there's any difference between any of the top 8-9 teams you're stupid. I only wish we'd won to knock WKU's dick in the dirt and take the tournament away from them, AGAIN.
