Rockets fall to NIU in MAC quarters. No Toledo NCAA appearance since 1980! They gotta be crushed. Coach K is cursed. There are some really long NCAA tourney absences in the MAC.

Unreal that they can't break through. I almost feel sorry for them.

I only found out the drought was this bad a few weeks ago, and I couldn't believe it. They've been so good so often in the 2000s. It occurred to me they must think of us the way we think of Akron. Western v. Toledo at UA is almost always one of my favorite basketball games of the year.

And BG has not been to the tourney since frickin’ 1968. Unreal!

Rich Walker former WMU asst for ‘76 squad was an all MAC guard for that BG squad. Out of Inkster I believe. Had a cup of joe with the Pacers.

Must be the curse of I-75! Will be a minimum of a combined 92 year drought between the 2 “neighbors”. Very surprising as both programs have had some solid teams over the years. Highlights how tough of a go it is for basically a 1 bid league.

Goes to show why teams in 1-bid conferences get so jacked up to go to March Madness. When you have a 1/12 chance every season, you could go decades without sniffing it. It really is a prize, because the next step down (NIT) is a huge drop in stature and attention.

It was like football in 1999-2000 when only one bowl was on the line, and why those losses at Marshall stung so much. No silver medal back then. You just went home.
