OT: Coaching Changes
It is being reported that Texas A&M will not retain Billy Kennedy next year and that they will go after Virginia Tech's Buzz Williams. A&M will not be out bid for their new basketball coach so I think it is likely to happen. My question is; Does Virginia Tech go after Jeff Jones?

On a separate note. I think Sean Miller is going to be out at Arizona. He spoke to fans after their last home game and it sounded like a good bye. He said stuff like it has been great to be the coach at Arizona for the past 10 years.

Feel free to add to the thread as positions open up.

Might as well add the LSU job to that list. I can't see how LSU could bring Will Wade back, no matter how bad their fans want him to still coach.

RE: OT: Coaching Changes
Ernie Kent is out at Washington State.
Barry Hinson resigned at Southern Illinois.
Sean Phillips is out at Ohio
Bob Huffman is out at Mercer
Tony Shaver at William and Mary
Joe Callero at Cal Poly
Corey Williams at Stetson
Sydney Johnson at Fairfield
Chris Casey at Niagara
Phil Cunningham at Troy
Steve Payne at Tennessee Tech
Jon Harris at Southern Illinois Edwardsville
Al Skinner at Kennesaw state

The list is growing and expected to hit 50 coaches this offseason. The only effect I see on CUSA at this point is that maybe an assistant coach would leave for one of this non power 5 conference programs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Shaver at Virginia Tech. He can flat out coach.

I have no idea where Rice stands with their coaching, but Tony Shaver would be a great fit there. I can't believe W&M canned him.

I have to think he will get a D1 head coaching job, even if it is at a low major. He would do well in the Patriot League.

You don’t get fired from a CAA job and land one in the ACC.

Rice is certainly not going to need a coach. Pera did a decent job with a very young team this year.

IF that played out (don't see it happening) and Jones went to VT I would hope Shaver is first in line with Mr Stith.

Yeah I don't know where that came from. Now of course if Rice has another mass exodus of freshmen, then who knows what happens? But so far, so good. It's been 3 days and we haven't heard of one guy leaving yet! (knock on wood)

BTW, Tulane's Mike Dunleavy is out now too.

RE: OT: Coaching Changes
That would be pretty sad if LT lets him go to GW. What could they possibly be offering?

A higher salary and a bigger basketball budget in a multi-bid league.

How much higher could the salary be? GW is an irrelevant program that gets next to no administrative or student support. I would think LT could step up to the plate and match the salary to keep him. This is why the conference is a 1-bid league. Rice has to reboot, MTSU has to reboot, and now it looks like LT might have a nice future and they might have to reboot. This would be like Richmond firing Mooney and our AD letting them hire Jeff Jones.

Ohio hires Stony Brook's Jeff Boals

Maybe this will save the Ohio Marshall basketball game. Ohio's AD was reluctant to sign an extension to the series in it's current state. Ohio basketball is a dumpster fire. Truthfully this is who they should have hired in 2012 and again in 2014.

Not on the men's side. But former Central Arkansas and Marshall women's HC Matt Daniel hired at Arkansas State in the same position. Daniel is a native of Jonesboro Arkansas and lives less than 5 miles from their campus now.
