RE: WBB info on WNIT
Selection Monday is tomorrow.

Projections I've seen have the MAC receiving 2 NCAA bids (Buffalo and Central Michigan) and 4 WNIT bids (Ohio, Miami, Toledo, and Kent St). Ohio has a shot at a third NCAA bid.

The total field for those Top 2 Tournaments is 128 teams (64 teams per Tourney).

NIU's RPI sits at #126 in the latest rankings after all the conference tournaments have been played.

RE: WBB info on WNIT
Oh, well. If this were another program (which I will not mention), I would be worried that the program is just running in place. Injuries have hit hard in the past couple years and, despite that, the team achieved a 19-13 record and a 2-1 finish in the pre-season WNIT. One senior, Mikayla Voigt, is leaving and while that's a big loss it is not insurmountable. Hopefully, off-season a few talented people (Courtney Woods, Janae Poisson, etc.) get healthy, and Coach Carlsen can add a couple to bring the roster up.

For the MAC, six teams in post-season play is still impressive, although Central Michigan will face Notre Dame and Buffalo will face UConn if they get past the first round in the NCAA. I'd like to see 1-2 teams make it high up in the WNIT instead of one-and-done.

The draw for Buffalo and Central Michigan was no coincidence after the showing the MAC had in last year's NCAA Tourney. Be certain of that. Crooked Cartel.

Akron pays the cover for the Women's Basketball Invitational making for a total of seven MAC Women's basketball teams in post-season tournaments.

There are Women's "pay to play" tournaments? Who knew?

Is this a sign that Title IX is working? Rimshot

MAC went 3-1 in the First Round of the WNIT, with Kent State, Ohio, and Toledo pulling out victories. Only Miami failed to advance (led by 8 at the Half).
