How did Keith not get Most Improved Player?

Carlton was a decent big man on a mediocre team and Pierre-Louis was an already good player who just took advantage of a bigger role this year (his shooting numbers didn't improve at all).

If there was ever a shoe-in for an individual award, I thought this was it.

I think I would have voted for both of those guys. An inside guy who shot 60% and was one of the leading shot blockers in the league is more impressive than a guard who's averaging one bucket more a game. I understand the argument against Pierre-Louis but he also averages nearly 6 boards as a guard and 3 assists. Had to look up the statistics but Keith in 26 min a game only averages 3 boards and 1 assist. So basically he's scoring but the all around game isn't there to validate this kind of award.

I don't really have any argument against Carlton. The numbers back up his case well.

As for Pierre-Louis, I just don't think he improved all that much. He was very impressive in a bench role as a freshman and took a natural step up this year in a bigger role. NPL actually had a higher PER last year. Keith improved his PER by nearly 10 points.

Keith only played 9 minutes a game last year. probably not enough to go by

I might have considered Nysier Brooks as a better candidate for most improved over Keith Williams.
