Because the voting base here are morons. Since the GOP has taken over the state Legislature it’s been embaresment after embaresment from these d-bags opening their bigoted mouths or passing legislation that does ZERO for the state. Last year or so they passed a law making it near impossible for a land owner to have any say or seek anything if a company essentially destroys or contaminated their own land. Something else like the 2014 drinking water contamination and letting that company essentially off the hook and then making customers pay for it. It’s no wonder people want to get out of here. We are considering moving to Ohio ourselves though staying in the Huntington area just across the Ohio River. It’s a shame that the people of this great state allow themselves to be raped without the benfit of a reacharound.

Cities that don't serve their original purpose anymore (rust belt towns like Detroit; Cleveland; Gary, Indiana; Flint MI...and Mississippi River cities like St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans) have barely been able to survive. (St. Louis has fared the best because it IS the headquarters of 9 Fortune 500 companies) We've basically given up on them and left them to rot.
