Rankings
Bearcats remain ranked in both the media and coaches polls checking in at 24 and 23 respectively. Nationally UC still gets a lot more respect than they do from their own fans. I think they'll end up a 6 or a 7 seed. Outside shot at a 5 if they win the conference tournament. They resume compares favorably to a lot of teams in the 6-7 range.

I feel like if we win 2 this week we will definitely be off that 8-9 line.

They get a lot more respect from voters than they do from me. I think we're somewhere in the mid 30s but always glad to be ranked. Let's win the tournament and enter as a top 20 ranked team.

I would be shocked if they are 8 or 9 seed. Win on Friday and I can’t see lower than a 7.

RE: Rankings
Call me stunned that we are still ranked after consecutive losses even if both teams in top 25. Net 27...7 seed, Lundardi 7 seed, Palm still 6 seed. 7 would be my guess. Not sure if winning conf championship will matter as they typically set these seeds before champion known. 7 seed would be best guess as of now. Anywhere 6 to 8 for range.

Mid 30s is where I have them as well, with the caveat that I agree the resume compares favorably to the 6/7 seeds.
My point is just that the perception of the program nationally is pretty solid. UC gets a lot of respect.

The only place our perception lags is on the recruiting trail.

UC gets far more respect than other teams in our conference, too.

Me too, though lose to SMU/Tulsa and I could see it...eight seems like the worst case scenario floor. Had some free time so I've been really digging into it the last few days. By my count 15 teams have unequivocal better resumes than UC. I have 6 more that I think are better resumes and likely to stay that way. So now we're at the second 6 seed. I have 6 more I think are right around or slightly worse than UC. Then 3-5 more who UC is clearly ahead of but could pass UC with great performance this week. The teams I have UC competing on the 6/7 line with are Louisville, Maryland, Iowa State... then committee could go a lot of different ways with Buffalo, Nevada and Wofford so they have to be in the discussion there.
Baylor, Iowa, UCF are behind but can really add to their resume this week...maybe Seton Hall or Minnesota with a great conference tournament performance.

I have UC as the second 7 seed right now, but think they are more likely to rise than fall.

RE: Rankings
I'm surprised we're still ranked... not so much because of the consecutive losses but because of the egg we laid yesterday and more importantly the sudden offensive philosophy of stand and watch JC. IMO, in the NCAAs, with bigger more accomplished teams, JC standing or dribbling until late in the clock and then going 1 on 3 is not going to get it done. He can touch it every time if that's what Mick wants but it's got to be a catch it and do something or catch it and pass type of game or teams will just load up on him. JMO
