Mark it two.

Oklahoma is entering a world of pain. West Virgin Boomers the sooners.

Nah. Committee will call this a quality loss.

Maybe, they could still make it in. Would be funny to watch the committee defend a 7 and 12 team in conference getting a bid. Especially one who feasted on cupcakes ooc.

ESPN loves to build hype, but it's less than a coins flip chance. OU needs a lot to fall right to get in.

The committee may win the battle on this, but it will be a nail in the coffin for the war. Every sub .500 in conference team sliding in to the dancing shoes will just be gas on the fire for the anti NET people and the pro criteria people. 7-12 OU and likely 8-12 TCU are perfect examples.

All bracketologists still have Oklahoma safely IN this morning. Not even on the Last Four Byes line.

A record of 7-12 in conference and I don't care you who you beat (in conference or OOC), you don't deserve a bid. That sucks. I'd rather see it go to a low major who is like 24-5. Maybe they beat nobody but they took care of business.

7-12 in conference is not taking care of business.

Some will argue "it's a tough conference"...well, you also get the $30M tv money...DO SOMETHING WITH IT.

I would have a set rule, NO Big Dance ticket if any team is less than .500 in conference.

I can tolerate an 8-10 conference record if you have a quality OOC record/wins. 7-11 or worse is an absolute no-go for me tho.

Perhaps, but I'm pretty sure we will advance in that ']['ournament... ']['ry to win a few games and make this conference and your team look good, maybe in the future a team with your record will get a better seat than 6-8.

Regrettably, Temple is toast.

That SMU team was around the top 25 that year. Temple would be hoping for a miracle, imo.

Around? We had been.

And had a weak resume, in a strong bubble with two losses to teams that finished like 10 games below .500

Not the same.

Memphis this year is a better match to SMU then.

Ya, I remember SMU's resume being highly suspect.

Agreed. But the media never brings this stuff up anymore. It's almost like they kinda just shifted over the sub .500 record ploy and we're just supposed to accept it now.

It's all about who you win now. Losses don't matter. Nevermind the fact that these P5 schools get about 20 chances a year (half at home) to get quality wins under a manipulated ranking system that looks like it was put together by a couple of Burger King employees.

It's all about the $$ now and it will ultimately turn into a what college football has become, which will make it less and less watchable.

Temple is in. And when Wichita State beats Memphis in the championship game, we'll be a 6-bid league. And then we'll announce our media deal worth $20 million per year per team.

Memphis NET moved up 8 spots to 46 this morning. If we beat Houston today, we are almost certainly in.

NET is just one piece. While you will be close, in no way can you say certainly in.

I dont think so, but we'll see. I think a win moves them right up to the line but then a loss brings them back off. They would be a slam dunk tourney participant if it didn't take so long for them to gel.

If Memphis wins today and loses tomorrow, they'll at worst be a 2 seed in the NIT. Pretty good first season for Penny.
