J.T. Lang
Dear Friends,
I thought someone would have posted by now, but no.
In case you have been living in a cave, T.J. was released by the Lions.
I have not read if he will be picked-up by another team. From what I have read looks like he is going to retire. I was also quite surprised when reading some of the comments about him. Many so called fans, did not seem to like him, some because he played for the Green Bay Packers. You can bet if he was a U-M player, they would be crying the blues about him retiring.
Finally, I wonder if he may have a role With Eastern's team?

TJ was a great player and loves EMU football to this day. He was at the bowl game in Montgomery and even tailgated at the EMU tent.
I think most Lions fans appreciated him, regardless of the loud/annoying negative comments on him. We'll see if he wants to get involved in coaching.
In other EMU players in NFL news, Andrew Wylie was voted rookie/first year player of the year by his teammates and coaches at Kansas City.

TJ has been a great advocate for the program as well as a donor. Had a great run in with him at the bowl game. Had a great career in the NFL... would love to have him continue to be a presence around the team.

I always thought he should have stayed in GB. The expectations were so different here.
At GB he was a fourth rounder who became a pro-bowl player. Fans love that. In Detroit he was a high paid free agent who missed a lot of time because of injury. It's unfair, but fans resent that.

He was great on the sideline at the bowl game with the players. Football is a brutal business and the injuries seem to be adding up for him.....great time to walk away. He got a
20.8 million dollar extension from Green Bay in 2012, and 19 million guaranteed from the Lions, so kudos to him! Go do what you want for the rest of your life TJ, you deserve it.

He also seems solid on the radio when 97.1 brings him on as a guest. Wouldn't be surprised to hear more from him.

Your post made my evening. I glad he got guaranteed money. It is completely unfair if a player has to retire because of injuries and loses money.
I believe NFL players should get workman's compensation for on the job injuries.

He will still play in the NFL but not on those terms. It saves 8 million against Detroit’s cap.
That said, I think everyone thinks highly of his play, when he can go.

Someone else (another thread) got confused on what coach the poster was commenting (poster was commenting on CC, not Murphy).
Maybe we need a new diagnostic category.
Folks in the Midwest may have SAD (seasonal affective disorder) in winter otherwise known as the 'winter blues.'
Now we have folks having cognitive confusion with MBB and FB...
Seasonal cognitive disorder(SCD) confusing resulting from overlapping on FB and MBB...

Dear JonesGoddard,
I apologize for getting Mr. Lang's initials twisted around. I should have been careful in my typing of his name.

Don't need to apologize -- I was grumpy. Sorry about that.
