Wouldn't that spark an argument that the tournament needs to stay up north?

Exactly. More of a "here's what you have to look forward to, CAA!" kind of thing.

Look out for some potentially shady officiating in the NU-Charleston semi-final. No way the league wants the Huskies to win. And whatever the league wants to happen, I generally oppose.

CAA isn't dumb. They know if CofC loses there's gonna be like 200 fans at the championship, especially since it's a week night. Then again... they brought this kind of scenario all on themselves really.

What's up with Brent Jenkins? He joined JMU's Cameron Smith as players to make season debuts in the CAA Tournament. The season and game statistics from the CAA say Jenkins is #3, but https://uncwsports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6406 says he's #14.

He joined the team in the final 3rd of the season as a walk-on.

Added to the team when Matt Elmore decided to transfer mid-season. I believe he practiced with the team prior to a spot opening up. Just a walk-on that has a dad with UNC connections. Makes sense.

I don't know what's worse, the fact the fans wouldn't go to a Final between the best teams or the fact that a conference (association in this case) could intentionally make biased calls for economic gain. If all that matters is how many fans each team has, rank all the teams by attendance after the regular season and don't play tournaments. I say that about any conference or the NCAA Tournament making biased referees and about top conference teams getting at-large bids because they make more money for the NCAA.

If you were a Charleston fan, would you rather lose to Northeastern or win the CAA Tournament but be 100 percent sure you only did so due to corruption?

What do you mean by "a spot opening up?" Since he's a walk-on, it doesn't matter if you're using all your scholarships. Is there a limit to how many players can play in a season including walk-ons? In 2015-2016, Elon used 18 players.

EvanJ,

All I can tell you is he didn't start dressing out for games until after Matt Elmore decided to transfer mid-season. I believe he practiced with the team prior. Other than that, I don't even remember him being on the bench before the spot "opened up". He's not on scholarship.
