The news media had to retracted on the misreporting of Mr. Phillips time in the military. He had to correct their mistake when the media said he served in Vietnam. That was the medias' fault at misreporting that, and CNN had to make that correction on air. Phillips did served in the Military during that time when Pentagon officials confirmed it, Phillips said he never went to Vietnam. Not all troops go to the war zone. Lin Wood told the judge they planned to sue media company Gannett, the publisher of the Cincinnati Enquirer among other newspapers, within 60 days. Gannett did not immediately comment either.

Last March, Sandmann's attorneys launched their suit against CNN for its coverage of the incident before all the facts had surfaced. The teen was seeking a whopping $800 million in damages between the three news outlets.

If I recall correctly he said he thought the kids were going to lynch the members of the Black Hebrew Israelites (known hate group) because the kids "didn't like the color of their skin". I remember there being a lot of holes in his story, but it was a while back. Doesn't matter what side of the political aisle you are on: He made up nonsense for a sensationalized headline and now the media gets to pay the price for not fact checking, as they should.

The media's #1 job is FACT CHECKING, not running to Twitter to see who can report fake garbage first.

Maybe he can read lips. I'm pretty good at that too. For example, I can tell when Pelosi is lying by either hearing her words, or if I can't hear them, just by seeing her lips moving.
