I wouldn't dare leave out Marshall for my beer adventure. What are some hot breweries? What are some of the styles getting big out your way (what are people drinking)? What are you yourself drinking?

...and what can I bring to the next tailgate to make you feel better about your impending loss to the Monarchs? Seriously though, I appreciate any and all input.

RE: Beer Thread
A lot of craft beers are rearing their heads around here. In August we have the annual Rails and Ales festival which brings in a LOT of microbreweries peddling their wares. We also had an indoor Winterfest of the same thing only it was hearty ales and porters and ciders.

Me? I’m a Guinness or Miller Lite guy depending on what I’m in the mood for. We have The Peddler here and Bahnoff Biergarten. The previous has its own brewery and the latter might as well have with as many beers as they have.

Have you ever gotten one of those Guinness variety packs? The stuff in there makes for some tasty drinking on a cold evening (although we're running out of those). I didn't manage to get any of the barrel-aged Guinness that was hitting the markets a few months back but I heard it was good.

Miller Lt is a versatile American Light Lager that is pleasantly refreshing. Not quite as full as Coors Lt, but I get that mostly because Coors Lt has a light banana note (likely yeast ester-based from the slightly warmer fermentation temperature) that makes it seem fuller. Miller Lt also does not get skunked immediately by sunlight because of the use of tetrahop extract during brewing. Nice to have a beer that I can pour in a pitcher on the back porch with the boys on a summer day. I saw that Budweiser released a crafty Jim Beam collaboration a while ago. Have to wonder if Miller will try something similar.

I haven’t tried the variety pack, but I am game. Miller will probably try something gimmicky because they have to keep up with the marketing machine that is Budweiser.
