I will tell you this without creating attacks and starting a pissing match, but Cacok is who teams plan against playing you, not Toews. At least not yet. Our coach has said as much. Toews is a great passing point guard. If he cleans up his insane number of turnovers, he will be beyond special to watch. He, Cam and Audige are exciting to watch.
You realize that a majority of his TO came early on? once he got through the learning curve they improved dramatically
Facts don't bear that out Hoops. He has been hit and miss all year.
I love Toews game, but he will sometimes force the long passes and get turned over. In his last five games, he's turned the ball over 5, 3, 6, 5 and 2 times respectively. That's three games with 5+ TO's. That's not good for a PG.
He only turned the ball over 5+ times six other times in the previous 27 games. He's only had a few stretches where he didn't turn the ball over at least five times. He usually didn't go more than two or threee games without a 5+ TO game. It's a weak spot in his game he needs to fix. He's only had 18 games with 3 TO's or less out of 32 games.

Yes, I think he definitely needs to cut down on the TOs. And I think he will. For a freshman, I'll take the results. With the record breaking assists he had, just think if we had been a better shooting team.

Right! His assist/to ratio was still good imagine if we increased our FG% by say 5 points.

RE: 2019 Men’s Basketball All CAA Awards
Joe Mihalich shouldn't have been anywhere close to winning COY. I wouldn't put him in the top 5 coaches in this league. It should have been Coen. The Quarterfinals proved that. NU battled through injuries to several key bench contributors nearly the whole season.
Even if Hofstra gets past Delaware today, I give them roughly a 0 % chance to beat the Northeastern/Charleston winner.

RE: 2019 Men’s Basketball All CAA Awards
None of the freshman really stood out. Horton hit a lot of shots but did little else. Wynter took a lot of shots that didnt fall. Audige went completely silent
For those keeping track:
Wynter: 12 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 4 TO's. 27.7% shooting
Toews: 8 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 TO's. 42.9% shooting
Audige: 3 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 0 TO's. 33% shooting
Horton: 26 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 TO. 60% shooting

Now we hold our breath as we wait to see if any P5's come poaching. Since of course D-I mid-majors are just farm systems for the big guys these days.

And had the 6th-most assists in a season by a freshman in D-I history, per EvanJ. The most ever by a rookie PG at a non-P5 school.

A historic feat... Kai not getting ROY isn't going to age well. Just another laughable travesty in the CAA.

UNCW didn't do a very good job of promoting him, either. Not trying to deflect blame but it was a sad situation all around.
Watch him get some regional and national honors now, too.

Kai doing all of that as a true freshman. Just another embarrassing blemish on the CAA, IMO. Just like snubbing Cacok.

I know I am the only one speaking up but if you even went over to the W&M boards, they did not even consider Toews for ROY. The problem most had, was for all of his passing skills and high number of assists (which naturally are ridiculously impressive), he had 107 turnovers in the regular season (112 if you count both tournament games).
To ignore that is crazy. He has 22 more turnovers than any other CAA player. 22! That is 8-10 games worth of turnovers more than the next closest player. He was also 19th nationally in number of turnovers. He had 68 turnovers just in conference play, which was 18th nationally. It is really hard to ignore those turnovers and what they cost a team.

But yet, his A/TO ratio was still great. sometimes you take the good with the bad. He was second in the country in assists on a bad (7th in the conf at 44% ) shooting team. Think about that for a second......

I wonder where Toews and Wynter's usage rates rank among freshman in the country, I know Wynter had a high one like Toews. Toews had the ball in his hands as much as anyone in the CAA this season. While I understand the Wynter argument from Dan, I just don't agree with it. In regards to Audige and W&M, he's a good young player but I'd be absolutely outraged if he won ROY. Wynter & Toews are on another level than Audige and Horton IMO, while all 4 have great careers ahead.
