Good players or bad players, Richmond is 100% garbage.

I am with Old Dawg. Not much of a rivalry when your rival sucks. 63-20 every year is going to get old.

RE: 2019 CAA Football Offseason thread
I had no idea this transfer portal was this big. Wouldn’t be surpised if upwards of 1k players are listed. There is something like 54 QBs alone, give or take. You need a this, or need a that, just go shopping. A large chunk of players on the list aren’t shown as committed to another school yet..Most of the commits are lateral, but are a large chunk are move downs. Even saw some move ups listed, but they aren’t all there- ex the RU WR Brisset grad transferring to Illinois isn’t listed. Among the CAA (might have missed some):
-RU got a WR from Duke, a WR from Northwestern, and a CB from Duke.
-W&M got a DT from VT.
-UD got an LB from Penn St.

Heck, I put my name in the transfer portal. If any college coaches are looking for an overweight slow guy in his mid 50's who drinks too much, I'm your guy. Of course, I learned this from my wife who entered my name. Man, that's cold.

Not when it’s the Spatters. Let’s have Dirty and Hyper chime in.

Every year I want to score 100 on them. I was disappointed this year when they made Gage kneel in the 4th Quarter.

Richmond wears red vests to games in a non-ironic way.
Best reason ever to go FBS

W&M had also added a # of transfers.
Grad:
DL Darius Fullwood, Va.Tech.
WR Sean Daniel from Va Tech.
QB Kilton Anderson, Coastal Carolina/ Fresno State.
rJr OL Andrew Trainer, Illinois
I can't remember RU or W&M ever taking more than a couple I-A transfers in a season, or ever taking more than JMU.

Get used to it at W&M under London. He might get them competitive again. RU will almost assuredly continue to be garbage.

While I definitely would love some more competition in CAA, this definitely gets me a little nervous. Hopefully Cignetti can recruit some good FBS / high school kids to compete. Keeping my hopes open for a transfer QB from P5.

You’re nervous because currently bad programs are predominantly taking one year grad transfers?

Unless it's Vad Lee reincarnated is coming to town I'm happy with the QB's we have on the roster, one of which is a P5 transfer btw. Really pulling for Gage just for the stability at the position for a few years

I don't feel a rivarly with anyone in the CAA. Some may feel it with us. The closest thing to a rival for me would be NDSU.
When UD was a football power, I felt it a little.
With ODU I definately felt it. As Mickey said something like it was the biggest rivalry of teams that have never played.
My biggest rivals of football
Current
NDSU
Prior
ASU
UD
RU

Really sucked that we wound up in different football Divisions than ODU. Neither of us had a football rival. W&M has Richmond and UVA has VT. We needed a dance partner.

That sounds like me less the "volume" drinking part. I'm more of a casual event drinker.

Does it have to be a Virginia school? What about Towson, or Delaware?

Towson? I've never felt a rivalry with Towson. And not with Delaware anymore at least with me, although I think most JMU fans don't feel on with the Blue Hens. When UD entered the CAA I thought we would become rivals, but it just never happened.
In Basketball it certainly was with RU during the lefty days. Also with basketball in those days. If used to be GMU felt we were their biggest rival, and I really did not feel it with them. Then when Larranaga got to GMU, I think it was more of a mutual
rivalry.

Colgate and North Dakota State.
(in truth, Colgate stopped us last year - though, I like to think of it as we stopped ourselves - from facing NDSU for the 3rd straight year)

Always liked the Delaware game. Large school, big stadium, usually a decent crowd and a well funded program. It's just that they already have NOVA as a football rival. With Towson, I think that was a "forced" rivalry for a while by the conference. There was a time when it was our yearly closing game.
