The Golden Flashes can wrap up a bye in the Mid American Conference Tournament with a win over Akron on Friday. The "fast improving" Zips are 1-9 on the road this season and 2-5 over the course of their last seven games. They followed up a 49 point performance against Ohio by putting 91 on Bowling Green State. Like most MAC teams this season, nobody knows which Akron squad will show up on a given night. One thing you can count on, however, is "vicious" taunting from their "rabid" fan base.

Groce doesn’t have much success in our gym. No reason to think that will change Friday. Good guys by 10.

So glad crAkron has a coach like Groce. He's easy to hate. I always liked Dambrodt and felt dirty about it.

Walker needs 51 points to break Huffman's scoring record. Likely guaranteed three more games and any kind of tournament run (MAC or postseason) would just be icing. It's a real shame that early season suspension happened as he'll likely not play a home game after he breaks it (if he breaks it).

No Walker tonight. I have no idea why. But it appears he is not playing on senior night.

Can I make it to Columbus for the semis?? Not likely. Too bad. There’s a couple 195 matches I’d love to see. Instead it’s two faceless teams throwing up junk.

At least we are hanging in there. It really took the edge off this game though. I’d watch the MAC wrestling but that would be even more depressing.

Well they pulled it off. Now the question is will Walker be eligible Thursday in Cleveland.

He has always been a bit out of control on the court but this year is the first time he had these issues. Usually these types of things show up before your senior year. Odd.

Without Walker, no one else wanted to play offense. We kept running out the shot clock.

Anyone know if Walker's suspension came from the coaches or department? It seemed clear that the first one came from above. Gholston wasn't dressed either not sure what the deal was there.

Williams is a really fun player to watch. Really glad we'll have him for another year.

At press conference, Sendy said Walker was “coach’s decision” but wouldn’t say more, including status for Cleveland.
