Ankle injury no timetable on return. Stepped on Kai Toews foot during a workout.

WTF is he stepping on Kai?! Nobody should be within 5 yards of our star PG this early in practice.

Stuff like this happens from time to time, hopefully it's just a sprain and he'll be back in a month or so. Could've been a lot worse.
Agreed. Basketball is a contact sport. Speedy recovery Jaylen!

Don’t know why we haven’t released our conference portion of the schedule yet. Northeastern has though, we play them in Wilmington on January 18 (Saturday) at 7 P.M. We go up to Boston on February 13 (Thursday) at a time to be announced. On another note looks like the Vanderbilt game got changed to Sunday December 22 according to their schedule release.

It can be deduced from this due to Hofstra being Northeastern’s travel partner that we will play Hofstra on January 16 (Thursday) and travel to New York to play them on February 15 (Saturday).

LOL Welcome back Jeff

Is he even eligible? I see he enrolled last year at what looks like a junior college and it was early in the season. I would imagine he's eligible for Mercer this year?

He sat out last season, so he is eligible. Jeff's uncle Greg is the coach at Mercer now.

Really doesn't look like we are in great shape for a coach that really has to win now!

Those of us who have been pointing out the trouble we are in with the roster this season have been chastised and told to "trust the process". We may have good players in place, but that can only be truly proven by winning games, which we haven't done. I see us in the bottom 3 again with little movement upward the year after than. Certainly nowhere near being a contender.

Since you are on record saying UNCW has top 4 talent you are putting this opinion on CB. If you feel like he should be fired why not say so? I think you are still butt hurt that they hired a UNC guy and not one of the kids that Keatts had here on his staff but that's just how I see it.

The rest of the league has been very late on releasing it. I think they’re waiting on FloSports setting some stuff up.

I don't care who is here, I want us to win and put a winning product on the floor. I thought it was a mistake to completely abandon a system our current players knew and that our recruits expected. I thought Siddle should have been hired. I didn't hide that. And? It looks like my concerns were valid so far. If CB can put together a system and players to win, I don't care what that system is or where he came from, i''d be thrilled. I have yet to see that. Keatts walked in a turned the program around in one year. Wasn't much bad to say about that when it was happening before your eyes, was there? I expectd improvement last year, and there wasn't. Sorry, but nothing I am seeing or hearing leads me to believe there will be much improvement this year.

Since you seem to doubt this, make your prediction. Where do you see this team finishing in the CAA and why?

I fall in line with 82 here. First i didn't really care who it was but i did think CB was a mistake. I'd LOVE for my initial prediction to have been wrong, but it seems to be trending towards spot on. The guy has recruited talent. But can he coach? I have seen very little in 2 years that would make me say yes to that question.

Whether you're right or wrong about CB, that doesn't mean Siddle would have been the right or better hire. We have no idea what kind of HC Siddle would be. Just because he'd likely try to run the same exact system doesn't mean he'd be able to handle the HC role.

This season hasn’t even started yet. I will withhold judgement to determine if hiring McGrath was a mistake until games are played. He doesn’t need to finish top 3, but significant improvement needs to be shown with a 5/6 place finish and probably most importantly drastic improvement on defensive numbers.

True. But the odds of success with continuity were greater than the odds of success abandoning what got us to the NCAA tournament back to back. How much worse could we have possibly been?

Continuity could have been maintained without hiring someone on the Keatts bench. My preference at the time was to get someone off Minnesota's bench.

Might have been better if Keatts had left anything behind is about the only way I see it . If you want to play the blame game put it where it belongs and that is with Keatts. Loaded up transfers, the class decommits and he takes the best player with him. I don't care who was coaching the last 2 years they were not going to win many games
I do think he can some games this year and being middle of the pack is possible if they stay healthy.

It's not necessarily about wins Mullet, it's about showing the ability to coach and improve. We have not seen that especially defensively. We saw that when KK took a group that Buzz had and won games. Coaching matters!

Ok. I would have been happy with that as well and said so. I was pushing for the Jamion Christian as well. Really didn't make a difference if we could have kept what we had going.
