I would expect NIU to bring in a Juco scoring guard like they found Thorpe. German, Rod Henry-Hayes, Key and James as starters. Hankerson is supposed to get the scholly but I bet a desperate Monty uses it to get a scoring guard.

Huh? Let me remind you he listened big time when people screamed about the non conference football schedule. Boston College and Utah got him what? Empty seats. Selective memory, eh?

James has a year left if he wants. So does Key.
German will be back if he’s not drafted.

If they all come back we should be okay. I'm guessing the other MAC teams lose a decent amount.

You play better D and not as soft as Key. Noah will start.

Not selective memory. Selective sports. STF has done a great job with o-o-c football sked. Fans have not responded. The topic (at that point) was whether there has been another contract extension beyond 2021 for Montgomery that we don't know about.

Big, Red, I'm the one to blame for asking about roster, departures, etc. Anyone seen anything about recruiting? Terrific work roster crunching, btw.

No reason to blame anyone. Although, that "losing 81% of scoring" got me to really think about it.

Anyway, they've got two guys with letters of intent for next year. The first is a 6'1" point guard from Bolingbrook HS named Tyler Cochran. The other is a 6'7" power forward from Streamwood HS named Keenon Cole. I don't really know much about either other than they're both 2* recruits (but that's kind of life) although, from the little I've seen from Cole, he's got a really well built/athletic body.

They've also got a redshirt freshman on the roster right now. He's a 6'7" small forward from Lawrenceville, GA named Justin Lee. Another 2* but I know some here were pretty high on him hoping he'd be a bit of a difference maker this year as a freshman. To me, he looks thin and I don't know what he actually looks like enough to pick him out on the bench.

Unlike when James had to sit out a year with his transfer. I kept seeing him on the bench and was always like...."holy **** that dude is impressive looking". Lacey always stood out physically.

Other than those 3, there is about 4 or 5 others that are listed as NIU having interest, but I don't think there's a spot for a scholarship anyway. Someone up there mentioned they think they might get a JUCO transfer, which would obviously cost Hankerson a year of a scholarship, and I suppose that is a possibility.

They are linked to a JUCO transfer out of Highland Community College named Luka Barišić. He's a 6'9" power forward. 2*. Tall, kinda lean from the pictures I've seen. Haven't really watched any video of him or checked his stats. As I just now look it up, he's averaging about 15 ppg, 52.9% FG, 39.6% 3PT (44-111), 77.9% FT, 4.8 RPG, 0.9 APG. So....maybe he might do something. But...I think Demogerontis was a pretty electric scorer at Moraine Valley, or wherever he went. So, JUCO stats don't always bring a guarantee.

German will be back if he’s not drafted.

What do you mean he’ll be back if he’s not drafted?

1. He already put his name in and pulled out last year. Can’t do it again.
2. Even if he could, to be able to come back, you have to pull your name out before the draft.

Does anyone know, do season ticket holders get the option to purchase tickets for this game with their seats, or are all tickets just open.

Season ticketholders can purchase tickets for their season ticket seat location, usually at a reduced price. They are selling tickets for the women's playoff game for $5.

Thanks DF! Do you just call and order and do will call?

Here is the playoff ticket information from the ticket office:

The NIU Women’s Basketball team will host the First Round of the MAC Tournament at the Convocation Center on Monday, March 11. The game time is yet to be determined. If the Men’s Basketballteam wins against Ball State tonight, Monday’s First Round games will be a double-header.

•Double-header: Women will tip-off at 5:30 PM, Men will tip-off at 8:00 PM.
•Women only: game will tip-off at 6:00 PM.

Thank you to those who attended the game last night and claimed their tickets for Monday night! As it is with the women’s game, NIU Athletics is happy to offer your men’s season ticket location at a discounted rate of $5 per ticket! NIUwill operate its normal double-header policy as it comes to Monday night’s games. A ticket to one of the games will allow admittance to both, however, if you want your reserved seat for both games, both games must be purchased.

If you would like to claim your ticket(s) for the potential first round game, please reply to this email with your preferred method of delivery and approval for processing with the payment method on file. The ticket office is able to sendyou the ticket via email so you can print off the ticket(s) and bring it with you Monday night. Due to the potential high volume of Will Call, it is highly recommended you choose to receive your tickets electronically. If that is not an option, your tickets will be available for pick up on Monday at the Convocation Center Box Office between 9:00am and 3:00 PM.

Doors will open one (1) hour prior to tip-off regardless of if it a double-header or just a single game. We will have two Will Call pickups for season tickets; one inside Entrance 4, and one inside Entrance 5. Please note that these pickup locations will be CASH only.

More information will be released in the coming days as the hosting scenarios become finalized. Be sure to monitor niuhuskies.com, as that will provide the most up to date information.
