Gab Releases Dissenter, A Comment Section Overlaying The Entire Internet
Every web page on the internet now has a comments section again including fake news outlets that shut down their comment sections, because they know allowing them sways public opinion, as their work does not hold up under scrutiny.
Very interesting idea, and could be the next big thing in social media if it catches on. Comments are up/down voted reddit style, and you don't have to have a gab account if you just want to be able to read.

This is a good idea... but... a few friends and I talked about something similar to this back in like 2011... but we didn't think it'd be possible to manage the storage requirements if it took off and people started using it.
They're literally signing up to be a comment forum for every single site on the Internet. That's simply not feasible in anyway at scale.

Are they doing it, or are their users? Watch the video. Seems like the users submit the url via their website, and it runs through the extension. I don't think they actually have to go and create a comment for every page. I'm not a tech guy though, maybe gts can comment.
I've already gotten into a habit of clicking the extension every time I pull up a Youtube video, and am shocked at how many videos already have comments. The Alex Jones round 2 podcast with Rogan has over 2,000 comments, and apparently it operated as a live chat during the show, as Rogan turns off chat. Pretty impressive for something that just launched.

The comment has to be saved somewhere. Since its tied to your gab account... I assume that gab is saving your comments in their database with some basic structure

Ok, gab is awesome lol. Their latest update eliminates the need to even click the extension. Now "dissent this" is a clickable button on every tweet, reddit thread, youtube channel, etc. I'm impressed.
Everyone should get an account and download the extension. There's potential here.
