Changing the ball midseason, if true, is a ******* joke.
How many warning track outs in the postseason would have been home runs with the ball that started the regular season?

several.. Adams today. game 5 of the LDS Kendrick early, Will Smith late. Wild Card game with Suzuki. And that's just with the Nats.

Didn't realize Cardinals were 10th in the NL in runs scored. Doesn't surprise me though. Basically their entire lineup has an OPS+ of between 90-110. Nats pen is going to be crazy rested for the WS

They have to win tomorrow or it's totally over.... They aren't beating Corbin, Sanchez, Scherzer, and Strasburg 4 straight. Only had 3 4 game losing streaks all season long- and only 1 since May.

RE: 2019 MLB Thread
Article in The Athletic today on MLB's mishandling of the manufacture of baseballs.
Major League Baseball has lost public trust over the construction of its baseballs
Quote:Either way, the league appears to have lost significant public trust over the construction of its baseballs. The commissioner’s office is well aware of the reception that awaits statements like the following, a response to an analysis at Baseball Prospectus which found that the postseason ball appears de-juiced.
“The baseballs used in Major League Baseball are manufactured in batches,” the league said. “Balls that are used in the Postseason are pulled from the same batches as balls used in the regular season. Regular season and Postseason balls are manufactured with the same materials and under the same processes. The only difference is the Postseason stamp that is placed on the ball. As has been previously acknowledged, however, the drag of the baseball can vary over different time periods.”
Quote:Take MLB’s relationship with Rawlings. The offhand perception appears to be that MLB owns and runs Rawlings. League sources said MLB has oversight of Rawlings, but does not actually operate the business, which has its own CEO and infrastructure. MLB’s stake in the company is about 25 percent, sources said. About fifteen percent of that 25 percent is owned by the commissioner’s office, and another 10 percent by a group of teams that wanted an increased share of the business.
But who owns the other 75 percent of Rawlings? Seidler Equity Partners, founded by Peter Seidler — a Padres general partner and the team’s lead investor. Meaning all of Rawlings’ ownership ties back to MLB in some way or another.
So here is MLB’s self-inflicted Catch-22. No one’s going to believe that the league does not actually steer the ship at Rawlings.

And with a second seeing eye ground ball, Eaton walks it off in Game 3
Wait, what's that you say? It's only the 3rd inning?
Yeah, I still stand by what I said.

Poor Flaherty, two seeing eye ground balls and another horrible play by Ozuna, who has proven to be nothing if not a player prone to making mistakes.

Lol, no it was not. A competent LF makes that play. That's an obvious error and should in no way have been scored a hit. I have to turn this off. It's just so...cringe worthy. It's like watching a boy get turned down by a girl.

7-0 now, still in the bottom of the 6th, no outs.
The Cardinals have scored 1 run on 8 hits in 24 innings so far.

Nats need to be careful. Cards have scored 1 in the 7th. This is uncharted territory for the Nats.

this is what I thought was going to happen. I said it before the LDS- whoever won our series was going to win the LCS pretty easily.

I enjoy watching the Cards lose. I LOVE watching them get embarrassed. I ******* hate all that “playing the game the right way” and “best fans in baseball” crap. This is fantastic.
