The other guys not so much. With every missed free throw the crowd made an audible ugh. It was kind of funny to hear.

Cumberland was 13/16 from the line, too.

Agreed. Don’t expect anything else of them. They made the tourney and that’s what they needed to do this year.

Nope. Never said that. They’re good, but also been extremely lucky this year. 10-1 in games decided by 5 or less. I never expected this team to even challenge for the conference so they have far exceeded expectations. I’m quite happy with this season.

This could be one of those years when we ride some good luck into the second weekend of the NCAA. I still believe we have a shot at a 4 seed but we need to win out and probably win at least one game in the AAC tourney. All of these are within reach. Who'da thunk after the opening loss to Ohio State...

UC is now a lock for the tournament is playing for conference championship during the last week of the season. You really can't ask for anything else.

I think a 4 seed would likely require ar least 2 AAC tournament wins and possibly a championship if we dont have to go through Houston to win it.

They have been a lock for weeks. Conf should have 4 teams in easily. Let get these last 2.

Yes Trevon made the pretty move for a layup but dinged his leg then told Mick he was hurt running by the bench but proceeded to steal pass and throw ahead to Williams to Bloome for a basket. He is a good snapshot of this team; he can make great plays then do frustrating things like forcing the three late in game instead of backing the ball out. But we keep winning and it is probably good to accept some silly mistakes being aggressive instead of becoming tentative in our play.

he summoned his inner eric hicks

We were due for an off night at the line. We've had back to back games of i think 14/15 and 15/16. Broome and JC are our best ft shooters. Odd for Cane to go 1/4, but it happens. I'm not sure Tre is ever going to be a good ft shooter given his line drive shot. Trevor is another story. He was 3/3 for year coming in and goes 0/2. I think as a team we're still 72 or 73% which is honestly above my expectations without a doubt.

Beatcats-Tigers Basketball Series...

Get this, with our game tonight we will play Memphis for the 79th time. That ties Xavier and is only 12 games behind Louisville as the most games UC has played against any opponent.

Cincinnati leads the all time series 45-33.

Cincinnati leads 24-10 in Cincinnati and 6-1 at neutral sites.

Memphis leads 22-15 in Memphis.

UC has won 5 in a row in the series and is 8-2 in the last 10 and 13-7 over the last 20 matchups.

Let's make it 6 in a row!

Basketball Reference

UC Athletics

That didn't seem right, so I pulled up the 18-19 media guide, and we've actually played X 86 times now, Louisville 99, and MU 147, but since the '49 season those numbers you mentioned from sports-reference are probably right.

A team isn’t a lock until they can lose our solidly make the tournament. Last night wins couple with UCF over Houston seal the deal. Cats have been should be in for a while.

I have totally enjoyed our games this season. Our achievements are far beyond my expectations. Each game seems to be a heart stress test.

Whatever we finally achieve- IMO this has been one Mick’s best jobs ever.

Going forward he will be recruiting into primo facilities. I expect good things.

Teddy was originally calling the touch on Trevon. He switched to the touch at the point of the pass after seeing the replay.

Yep and Trevon wasn't even all that close to touching it. Yet Teddy acts like he nailed it the whole time.

If Temple or Memphis get in, then the bubble is even weaker than I thought with their current resumes. Temple beat Houston at home aaaaaaaaaand that's pretty much the extent of their resume. Memphis doesn't even have that. We have 3 locks. 4 would be a stretch assuming Temple doesn't come up with a big W the rest of the way.

Probably just had 1 too many during a hard fought UC game where we could all use 1 too many. No hard feelings SFBC... Go Cats.

Just another very enjoyable game in a long line of enjoyable games this year. Takes us to the very end, love this stuff. Remember when we would be up by 20 at half and the game is over, this is much more entertaining. Don't over analyze, just sit back and enjoy, to everybody, it's more fun this way. 04-cheers

This week will be important if Temple wins at UCONN and at home against UCF they should be in good shape if they win a couple in conference tournament. We are definitely playing this week to improve our seed. If we take down UCF and Houston maybe Lunardi might take us off his seventh seed where we are stuck01-wingedeagle If UCF loses both that probably would offset their Houston win and put them in jeopardy of needing a good AAC tournament showing.

College bball across the board is down this year. If IU is still in the conversation, no reason Temple should not be. Unless, Temple really blows some games, they should be in. Memphis is another story. I do not think they will be in, unless the win the Conf Trny.

If Memphis had beaten us, suddenly their numbers and resume would have looked much more like a tournament team.

Once again, UC not doing its part to help the American.
