Marshall would probably have to play a lot better than they have in the last few weeks to make it to the title game. I guess you would like to make it there.

A team can not fall (or raise above) below the pod they played in...

so I believe the lowest seed UAB can get is the 5 seed. Western is locked in as the 2 or 3 seed.

With regard to winning the Championship, it is ODU's to lose. They are currently the best team in the league.

It's hard to discern between WKU, UTSA, USM and UAB. All have been inconsistent, but I'd put WKU and UTSA at the top of this group based on talent.

Marshall, FIU and La Tech after that (Marshall has the talent, but looked lost most of the season, FIU seems to be coming on, and La Tech is just too inconsistent).

UNT has the talent and the chance if they can put it back together, but their utter collapse looks bad.

Those are the teams I think have a chance, but odds are it'll be ODU.

1. This has to be the most complicated conference tournament seeding in America with the clustered standings combined with the pod system.

2. It would be a lot easier if Conference USA actually reflected tie-breakers in their standings (consistently), see: http://conferenceusa.com/standings.aspx?path=mbball

For example it seems that for teams 4-7 they have the standings correct taking into account tie-breakers and the pod play rules (which I overlooked). However for UNT and La Tech (both at 8-9) they have UNT ahead of La Tech when I believe it should be reversed.

UNT and La Tech are 1-1 against each other. Both teams loss to ODU. But La Tech defeated WKU which should give them the tiebreaker.

While winning is always good. Marshall has won 3 games (MTSU, LA Tech, and North Texas) since Valentine's Day. None of them are Pod 1 teams. All I was saying earlier is OF COURSE Marshall would like to play anybody in the conference championship game given where they are today. Same goes for any other team, but especially so for teams like Marshall that won't be getting a first round bye. It is still possible to win it all for one of those teams, but not as likely.
