Sanford hasn't shot well for quite a while. That last shot he made was a prayer and he's lucky it didn't get blocked. If he can't get back on track we can't beat a decent team. And why do we let guys drive to the basket for easy layups at the end of every game?

It's too bad to hear that people have given up on the team. I know they didn't play well tonight, but they pulled out the victory. They are 21-6 and still in good position to get a first round bye to Cleveland where anything can happen.

You just keep hoping that early season magic reappears at just the right time. NIU was a bad team and we played down to their level.

I have lost faith in this team, I don’t see the Rockets winning even 1 of the next 2 games. Understanding they were playing great on the road until the last game. It looks like Ball State have tanked as well, maybe that will be a road win for the Rockets.

Since you have lost faith, time for you to go root for Wright State ...
This Rocket team is in a definite funk right now, but tonight it still was a win, and something they should have pulled off against a so so WSU team early in the season ...

RE: NIU game
Yes, I’m glad we have winning seasons, and beating BGSU (especially one In a packed BG arena), but I’m bored of this team. I can only stand first roun byes and eventual tournament losses for so long. We should have routed NIU, and we should have beaten EMU. Coach K is not going to lead our team to the promised land of the tournament, seems like ever.

RE: NIU game
I will say this, Navigato was the man tonight! He is not necessarily the most talented player on the court, but he is gritty and plays with heart. Navigato and the fight are my two MVPs of the night. I enjoyed seeing this team show some emotion. I've only made it to a couple of games this year, but it looks like when teams can guard perimeter, UT struggles. I think that was the case the second half of Buffalo and that was the case the first half tonight. There is no inside game. Hopefully tonight will be a catalyst to restart the fire. I also like the look of Edu. I think he has some great potential.

NIU game
Every year it seems like a senior laden team steps up and wins the MAC. We have an upper classmen led team with several 4 yr starters. Navigato has been our most steady senior. At the beginning of the season, my money would have been on Sanford. He had a great season last year. I was prepped for him to have a huge senior season, but its now evident that playing with Fletcher caused teams to key on him and Sanford ran free. I know he does a lot of everything well, but the big time players on other teams bring it every night. Sanford hasn't lit anyone up other than the Penn team we jumped on and didn't let off the gas. Nobody on our team scares anyone. Tonight 4 guys almost disappeared from the box score. We are steady and usually win, but we don't have a mean streak.

With Sanford, I sorta feel the way a lot of Buckeye fans felt when JT Barrett finally graduated. They were happy to have him, but glad to see him go. He's been a good, but not great player for us. He's stayed out of trouble and I'm sure is on a path to graduate. I will miss Navigato, he's been fun to watch. When he is on he's really on.

I think we do have a base to sustain a decent team for the next 3-4 yrs.

We played like poop but give credit to NIU. They watched EMUs zone and perfected it tonight. We are lucky to bounce back. Knapke has sucked. He makes such weak plays in the post and can't seem to make contested shots in the paint. I agree Navi was the reason we won. I'm thankful.

13 boards, four blocks, numerous alterations and 3 assists is the kind of suck I like. But, yeah, when you get the ball low don’t wait for the defense to come to you, go up and jam it. Now!

Amen, onto Ball State. Coach K has not change anything with his rotation, same players, same offensive results, very stubborn in his ways. The bench players see this as well. Come on coach try something different.

TK seems to use the same rotation consistently. I can't recall seeing him pull a player after a bonehead play, a lazy pass and turnover, or after taking a dumb shot. Once or twice Darrington has gotten some extra minutes when he was hot and carrying the offense.

BTW - 3 seconds left in the game, Rockets were up by 3 pts. 57-54. NIU has a last possesion out of bounds. The 5 players TK sends in to get the stop and win the game are Marreon Jackson, Sanford, Navigato, Willie Jackson and Spencer Littleson. On the inbound 6'9 Lacey James got up a long 3pt attempt over Navigato that missed and the Rockets win.

Smart move at the end. No bigs to commit clumsy fouls, plenty of quickness to get out to the perimeter. James was definitely the guy you wanted to take that shot.

I think "sucked" is a pretty strong term given what he did on defense. Yes, if he can't get open to shoot a jumper, he's pretty much a non-factor offensively, but his defense was also key in last night's win.
