not using his bench at all , was not great coaching ,,,,never have anyone of the best player from the other team was not great coaching
never call a time out was not great coaching
he feel a lot pressure when uab lost 4 games in a row and he make some change
he use his bench ,, he send an uab player following the best player from the other team and he call a lot time out now ///just saying

I agree, Frenchy. Perhaps Attalla was just being facetious.

Fantastic win!

Wasn't able to watch today but great win. So proud of Lewis Sullivan. He's the only in-state scholarship player we have left and it doesn't look like we'll have even one next year.

Something wrong with Gueye? Not a normal stat line for him. He was in foul trouble at WKU but not today. Wonder if he's banged up or sick.

He just seemed to have a bad day.
Some brick hand turnovers, seemed to spiral.
We basically won without him, but will need him going forward

I also agree. Great analysis of recent coaching adjustments. This was a fabulous win for UAB and great effort by everyone! Southern Miss is a very good team and also played a very good game too. Just hope we can keep the momentum going. A win against WKy would give UAB a great shot at overall 2 seed in tourney. Way to step up Lovan and Scott-Grayson. Cudos to Ehsan, Bryant, Sullivan, ENTIRE TEAM and GO BLAZERS!!

Congrats on the win today. It seemed like your guys couldn't miss the last 10 minutes of the game and OT. Let's meet again in the CUSA tourney finals!

Watched most of the game now. Few thoughts:

-Lewis Sullivan hit a huge shot and also played a great game. He was rebounding by himself a lot.

-Love the maturation of Bryant's game. Still attacking but not forcing his offense. Playing under control and managing the team and the game. Shooting less threes but making as many or more. Great to see.

-TSG made some big plays on both ends of the floor late. He's cutting into Bell's minutes, who has been struggling during this turnaround.

-Great games from Lovan and Perry. Hope Lovan works hard on his FT shooting. He's gonna get fouled a lot and needs to be consistent from there.

- I know Pearson has a good looking build but I'm not seeing the basketball player at this point. Think of Sully as a freshman, not to mention HaHa or Cokley. If Akabueze wasn't as game ready as Tamell...yikes.

- Is Anderson McCoy this teams Pipo Marrero? (For the old timers)

After Sullivan tied the game, Ehsan had big grin like, "I finally caught a break." I hope he capitalizes on the momentum.

Agree that McCoy is our Pipo. Except that he starts the second half too. Pipo started the game, and was gone.

I also agree about Pearson. He is athletic, but he has done nothing basketball wise this whole season. Fouls, turnovers and an occasional missed shot. Hopefully it will all slow down for him and he will improve as Guaye has this season (with the exception of today).

And Lovan reminds me of an Oliver, or Michael Charles or Stamp Jackson of old. He is ridiculously athletic, a slasher and leaper, but still not a polished shooter. Those guys developed their shooting over time. If he does that, at the line and around the floor, he will be a big-time player. He and Scootie and Guaye and TSC are a pretty good nucleus to build around for next year. We need to add several bodies who can contribute, especially inside.

For now, it's fun to be a UAB basketball fan again.

you can see that the play dont trust pearson ,,,they rarely pass him the ball even when he is guard by a lot smaller guy
Hope he can rebound better and it may be able to get put back basket
The game seem too fast for him ,,,,,he will improve ,,,,

I was thinking that Ehsan should have brought McCoy back in the game when Scootie got his 4th foul but somehow it worked out.

Currently we are a 3 seed.

Win out and we would be a 2 seed probably unless ODU loses out.

We probably need to win 2 more games to be guaranteed of a 1st round bye.

Win 1 more game and we have a shot at it.

Wouldn't one think that a pod victory over a team should count more in a head to head tie breaker?

The bench is something we all questioned. We were going to need most of those guys at some point, it made sense to get them game experience early and often. I’ll never understand why that didn’t happen.

I highly doubt he ever went into a game and said hey their best player is Joe, let’s not guard Joe all game. I’m sure he was aware, and the players were aware. That’s an execution error.

The timeout thing is an old school mentality. Different coaches have different opinions on this, and if you don’t agree with what your coach does from day 1, you never will. I don’t think there is a right or wrong time to use timeouts, some coaches will let runs go on longer than others. I’ve seen plenty of teams get a timeout called after a 6-0 run or so and come out and have another 6-0 run happen anyway.

I do feel like Ehsan has showed a lot of progression in his coaching this year, but his recruiting left us in a bit of a bind. We are a couple of pieces away from being really good next year. If we don’t get those pieces, no amount of coaching will fix the issues we will have.

So up four late in the second half few seconds remaining why not intentionally foul their worst shooter? Game was on the line.
