Arkansas State thread
Since we played them last the Red Wolves are 1-3, with their win coming over Arlington. In that game their three starting guards all scored double figures, totaling 65 points. They got pounded on the boards but were red hot from the arc.

For the season they are a fair shooting team and a poor rebounding team. They turn over the ball too much.

Ty Cockfield is their gunner, averaging 22 ppg and shooting 36.6% from the arc. Marquis Eaton chips in with 11.9 ppg.

Sagarin picks us by a fraction of a point.
RealtimeRPI picks ASU by 9.

Cockfield is Cockfield. He'll get his. Our problem remains inconsistent defense and turnovers along with no supporting cast for Ty. If Eaton and JJ Matthews show up to score along with some defense from Fritz we could play a good game with you guys. You just never know with our bunch. Good luck on Saturday.

RE: Arkansas State thread
If we want to go to New Orleans we need to win Saturday. ASU win puts them a game ahead- basically 2 since they would own the tie-breaker. This is our last game against a team from the lower half of the standings. Sure we can upset anybody, but our last 4 games are against teams that are better than we are.

Made me go look. Yeah, same four we close out with. Neither of us have it easy from here on in.

The tournament doesn't mean much to me personally. I know we're not good enough to deserve to be there so the best we can hope is to do is be a spoiler. I think it's time to start complaining about how bad our baseball team is now. But our golf team...

Staying with them early. We have the firepower to win this one. Just need to rebound and play some D.

Bankston needs to be more aggressive. He has way too much physical talent to be as passive as he is under the basket.

Why are our big men such poor rebounders?

Good game yoolers. Your team kept battling. And yes, we noticed, the Sun Belt refs continue to be awful. Some questionable calls in there. Get healthy and get a few more bench players and you'll be in the thick of it again. Keep your chins up.

Thanks, we'll try. Next 4 look pretty tough, however.

Same four for us coming up. And Georgia State is going to be pissed when we get there after today.
