North Carolina to hold new elections for 9th Congressional District
Quote:The North Carolina state board of elections voted unanimously on Thursday to hold a new election in the 9th Congressional District – a move that came hours after Mark Harris, the man at the center of the case, testified.

"I believe a new election should be called," Harris said during the hearing on Thursday adding that his conclusion is based on the testimony he has heard over the last four days.

The timing and process of the new election are still unclear as are details about candidates who might run. Those details will be determined by the board of elections at a later meeting.

While it is unclear whether Mark Harris or the Democratic candidate Dan McCready will run again in a new election, both would have to compete in a primary election, according to a law passed by the GOP-controlled legislature late last year.

McCready tweeted Thursday following the board's decision saying, "Today was a great step forward for democracy in North Carolina."

My guess is Harris won't run and his primary opponent Robert Pittenger will be the GOP candidate.

More Republican shenanigans. Please stop. We get enough of this from the president.

His consultant did on a small scale, exactly what California Democrats did on a large scale.

But Democrats made sure it was legal to mine ballots in California. Its not legal in North Carolina. It shouldn't be legal anywhere. Its just set up for fraud.

Funny to read the hypocritical posts by the leftists on articles.

He knew the consultant, when working for a different candidate, committed a felony in the 2016 primary. His son testified that he warned Harris that the evidence pointed to ballot collection in 2016 and that would be a felony. Harris, instead of fighting the 2016 results, decided to hire that consultant to work for him in 2018. Even telling his son he would have another consulting firm hire the consultant so there would be a layer separating him from the campaign.

Also, I agree it shouldn’t be legal in any state. Too easy to commit fraud. But that doesn’t change the crime that happened in NC.
