Hotel prices near downtown are pretty steep. I am a Hilton member and still pricey for the 3 nights I plan on staying there.

I booked through them, although I cashed in most my pts and don't use their card any more as I do Wyndham. (They have crap there). I booked a Home2 Suites (2 beds, pullout in 2nd room)through them and it was a lot less than anywhere else in vicinity other than the Extended Stay. Did 5 day cancellation. Prepay was even less. It's between dtown (1 mi) and campus (1/2-3/4)and has a few bars around. Patterson House across the street looks interesting

Only issue is the 30 bucks parking. But that's anywhere in that immediate area. Don't plan on moving my car once there, looks like the tailgate sucks, parking is ala FSU and donor/permit on campus.

Also of note, Carrie Underwood has a show on Friday so likely adding a little to room prices.....

...hopefully to the "scenery" in town too! 02-13-banana

I guess it's also the bachelorette party capital. At least of the south. Read one article where a guy said he "stopped counting at 17" on a weekend.
My better half will be coming so bachelorette parties I will avoid. Don't want frying pan to the head. I am looking for something closer to downtown as I will probably Uber to game because I won't be able to drive back to hotel.

Aloft hotel is a cool trendy spot. Cheap uber away( like $6)to stadium or dt. Right in the middle of both.

They have cool little bar with good live music.

As a fine music aficianado, I prefer Pachelbel's Canon in D. Oh, oh.....did I say canon? Better scratch that or some donors may get upset!

Seriously considering going to Vanderbilt and would like to know where people are staying, or, any recommended hotels. Thanks in advance.

It looks like the Holiday Inn across the street from the stadium has rooms available for both Friday/Saturday. Is anybody familiar with that HI?

Was going to stay at Marriott Vanderbilt but rooms were $300+ per night. Ended up booking Embassy Suites Airport on the recommendation of a friend that lives in the Nashville area. Room rate was around $200 there

Yes, very much so. Starting way back when I was a student. Couldn't have a better location. People are great and even excellent live music. Not far from action in downtown. Best spot for the game. Walking
Distance to stadium . Rotier's is close by my favorite
campus hang out.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful. I have booked it for Friday/Saturday.
I would assume at least a reasonably (clean) nice facility. Thanks again.

Definitely clean with a nice staff. You could pay twice what you're probably paying and not have a better time. I would go to the game but UT is playing up the
road at UK

Going with +10, all NIU alumni to Nashville. We have to make this like the Northwestern game a few years back where NIU took over the stadium. Going to be a great time

Great location, great time of year plus Vandy not being a powerhouse could mean a very nice NIU crowd at game.

While it may be cutting it close, if you get a Hilton credit card they will give you like 75k points upon qualifying purchases. I think it was like 1k in 3 months or something. I don't remember how fast they post. I used it for FSU game in Panama City Beach and saved over $300. $95 fee, waived for a yr. I just canceled.

Wyndham is great, no fees. And they have deals where you only have to spend 3k pts for a good discount rather than 15k for a free room. I have used them in DeKalb (Baymont, Super 8) Problem is they don't have a lot of properties in their chain in major cities.
