He's actually the opposite. 2018 was his first season and he inherited a ton of undisciplined kids (basically from the staff that got into a boxing match with Cullman a few years ago). He had several quit prior to the season, and a few more during. He sent a kid to the locker room during one game, simply because of his reaction to a penalty. So basically, he ejected one of his own players when the official didn't. During workout sessions in the summer, the team has character education and service projects they must complete. When they progressed to the 3rd round this year and had to practice on Thanksgiving morning, he arranged for a full Thanksgiving meal to be provided for his entire team and their families.
He's an amazing coach and even better man. So no, he does not encourage dirty play at all. But, when your team gets beat by 25 pts, and goes 4-6, I'm sure you see things from a different perspective.
I'm trusting my coach when he told me that Jasper's coach cussed him after the game. They also showed up to our school at 3:30pm for a 7pm kick off, trashed the locker room and stole stuff from our jv football team. yeah, I'm sure he's a real class act.
Lol. That's some fast cheese wagons. School is out in Jasper at 3:00pm, and they made it to Hayden in 30 minutes. They also skipped feeding their players a pre-game meal since they were busy trashing the locker room.
I won't argue that an assistant might have said something, but I would wager that Coach Moore did not. If a player uses profanity in front of him, he runs after practice until he can't speak.
Your coach sounds like a stand-up guy himself...going around bashing his opponent's coaches to a bunch of parents. It sounds like he was trying to deflect the attention away from the beat-down he had just endured at home.

RE: High School Spring game @ UAB's Legacy Pavilion
I've contributed more than my fair share to this derailed post and pissing contest. But, I simply created the thread to bring attention to the event. I think it is a very neat idea and will only be a positive experience for the kids and for UAB.
The players will post it all over social media, which is more free pub for UAB football. Plus, maybe we pickup a few additional fans along the way because of the event.
RE: High School Spring game @ UAB's Legacy Pavilion
No matter how you spin it this is a win for UAB. Players from both schools touring the facility and UAB is a win. Let them see there are other options in this state.

My son plays on the team, so I asked him tonight if they trashed the locker room at Hayden. His reply... "We didn't use a locker room. We were in a metal building with garage doors and a tractor. It was a 1,000 degrees in there, so we stayed outside during pregame and halftime."
Maybe you're thinking of another team that trashed the place?

RE: High School Spring game @ UAB's Legacy Pavilion
Coach Moore spoke at our church prior to last football season. I did not attend a single Jasper football game myself but I have not heard anyone complain about him within the community either. I left our church that night more impressed with him than any other coach I had been around other than one. The programs he was implementing seemed like they would be phenomenal for the young men on the team.

I’m not a parent. I’m on the faculty with him. That’s one reason I’m not using names. I trust my coach that I work with. Plus, I know what I heard on the field and witnessed after them game.

Wait, so earlier you said you trust your coach when he told you that he was cussed after the game, but now YOU heard and witnessed it yourself? Seems the story has changed. Just scroll back up and read your own comments.
RE: High School Spring game @ UAB's Legacy Pavilion

RE: High School Spring game @ UAB's Legacy Pavilion
Great Concept, Know, If, UAB could get some Hoover and Vestevia and Homewood players interested, love those smart kids and the city kids out their as well. Two good programs in the High School league of Alabama to come to Birmingham should pay dividends.

That's great, has the third field been built yet, one concearn, is wear and tear on the grass fields and who will do the up keep on the fields hope those teams utilizing the Blazers facilities have the same respect as the Blazers do, and admiration, it took a lot of hard work to get it, don't need disrespect to the Blazer fields. The team will be watching with love of their stuff. That's why the came to UAB.

Had heard from a few players they were knot late hits, It was justification and the infractions being hit to them and they waited to the end of the game to hold their peace.

Both of the fields currently at the practice facility are artificial turf. The grass half-field has not been started yet, because the old buildings still need to be removed from that site.
