Y'all, Rahne's KILLING it on the recruiting trails. If he can develop talent and coach even just a little bit, we're in for a quick turnaround.

He'll move to safety if he gets much bigger.

So next on the list looks to be Isaiah Rogers, but there are a few others that would be very nice pickups as well. Any intel on possibilities for these guys?

James Smith - DE - Va Beach
Isaiah Perkins - WR - DMV
Zemarion Harrell - OLB - Va Beach

Williams plays in Richmond and I don’t think he is coming. Probably not taking anymore WR either.

They just updated some of the player ratings on the 247 site. We now have the #5 ranked class in CUSA (#93 NCAA) according to 247.

They’re still missing Curtis Nixon, Skyler Grant, Tahj El, and Chris Kaine.

I think Rahne got some of these kids as a result of contacting them while at Penn Sate. That connection will soon dry up. Lets see how he does next year, especially without a year of competition to show his chops.

I believe not playing this year will turn out to be a big plus with our recruiting targets' parents. It quite clearly demonstrates that ODU has the players' best interests in mind. If, God forbid, the season does not go well due to increased Covid cases, it will double up that impact. Time will tell how good or bad the decision was.

He can contact them no matter what school hes at. Its not like the kids think they are now going to Penn State

Understood. But if his first contact was while he was at Penn ST. that might have gotten the kids attention a little more. Plus HS coaches in PA might have been willing to refer kids to PS before ODU

I still dont understand your thought process.

It’s almost as if he believes they are only connecting him with Penn State. But they aren’t getting offered by or committing to Penn State. The logic just isn’t there.

Looking at the list there are quite a few PA recruits who he may have had contact with or been familiar with before, or his staff. But there are a lot of good VA and NC talent there too which I would believe was identified after he came to ODU. MD is kinda in the middle.

That Penn State logic also ignores all the high school coaches who keep saying how great this staff has been at building relationships.

Rahne was at Penn State for what 4 or 5 years? He seems to know the lay of the land and would definitely know the players who would fit ODU that would not be PSU caliber. Guy and his staff are working their tails off and have successful recruiting to show for it.
