Just a guess but defensive rebounding is more directly correlated to size and positioning whereas offensive rebounding might be more correlated to quickness. That might explain some of our rebounding statistics.

Anti-zip that is wonderful information. Not even my wife has ever twisted herself into that big a knot in an effort to agree with me. In all seriousness though, that’s pretty doggone good info.

I think what your numbers show is we have some dynamic offensive weapons, which, on any given night can carry the club to a win. But our defense isn’t good enough to carry us when those weapons don’t show up.

Bottom line - we don’t have much margin for error.

Yeah we're in kind of a tough spot. Personally I think our best defensive players are Frederick, Peterson, Williams, and Duling in no specific order. Unfortunately Williams is the only one of the group that is a consistent threat on offense. What's rough us Whittington is the best defensive rebounder and rim protector but fouls too much and isn't as good of a rotational team defender in my opinion.

If Duling can play under control on defense, limit his fouls, get on the defensive boards, and score around the basket like he did against CMU he could be a huge difference maker. Unfortunately he hasn't given us any reason to view that game as anything more than a good day yet.
