RE: Jerry Kill on PJ
Two things about PJ: 1) I don't care what Jerry Kill thinks about him. I'd like to know what his players think about him. When players hate their coach, the team's usually not successful, period. 2) For all the PJ bashing on this board, he's proven to be one helluva good head coach. Took WMU from the cellar to a major bowl game. Has Minnesota's arrow pointing way up. Gotta give him his props. Personally, I like to see NIU guys succeed. Reflects well on our program, too.

But not before he put them in the cellar first.

Western was a mediocre team under Cubit, talented, but under-achieving. Peej did not have to "rebuild from nothing" as he LOVES to give himself credit for. He tanked that team on his own before building them back up only to mediocre then catching lightning in a bottle and every imaginable break to over-achieve for ONE (incredibly LUCKY) season with Cubit's QB.

Peej is a Rainmaker.

And Kill had Novak's QB, and Doeren had Kill's QB, and so it goes. Still gotta coach 'em up and motivate 'em.

Jerry Kill essentially behaves the way he disparages PJ to have behaved. What's disappointing is having two people that are ex-NIU dumping on each other. I'm not in either camp, but the idea that PJ put WMU in the cellar first is just your opinion. Many consider Cubit overrated and when there's a transition sometimes it's hard to say if the rebuild is a result of nothing because the cupboard was bare or people who were not the right fit had to be run off. Charles Sad-Sack Sadler didn't know what to do with the talent Pettibone left and he took the Huskies downward. Novak had to then run off some of Sad-Sack's remains which made that rebuild tougher. Kill and the Minnesota administration didn't do us any favors and as loyal as Kill is to his staff, there were still embarrassing problems with the Golden Goofs that PJ had to overcome. Personally know some folks at WMU who believed in the success and would not characterize it as incredibly lucky. There are always two sides to every story and I've heard both positive and negative when it came to Kill when he was here and beyond, and the same especially applies to Doeren and the way he handled things relative to PJ. And that means there's positive and negatives with PJ as well. So in the end, what is very sad is two ex-NIU people engaging in a pissing contest.
Since the Daily Chronicle sports editor is too cheap to pay a penny or to work on bringing Korcek's Corner back, the only way to get some of Mike's inside knowledge and background is if you're Facebook friends with him (wish I could be instead of simply knowing someone who is). There are about 500 former Huskies in those numbers and there's been some interesting views.

When? Please source these comments. As usual I call bs. Kill has come back for a major event and even donated to niu. Never said a bad thing that I know of. He has publicly voiced regret over how his move to Minnesota was handled. Now that Carey is gone I assume you will have to find other bs to spread.

When did he "publicly'' voice his regret over how he tried to screw NIU over by leaving a skeleton crew for our bowl game? What did he say? When did he say it? And where? I'm still ticked that he didn't leave the coordinators to run the team for the bowl game. Thank goodness Tuke did such a great job.

Jerry Kill is in Chicago this weekend. Probably for SIU vs Loyola in Basketball. Saw him downtown. Still a down to Earth guy.

I’m ok with him not liking PJ but bashing him on the radio is bush league. Be a grown up Jerry. You’re twice Pj’s age.

Your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it. I think many might disagree, however, when you state that undefeated WMU team was all smoke and mirrors. I don't agree it was lightning in a bottle - they had some serious talent on that squad.

Much like I don't care for people to rip on the Orange Bowl Huskie squad, I feel it kind of sucks when people disparage the Fiesta Mustangs. Both of these squads earned their spots as fiesty mid-major programs. Celebrate that.

So does that mean PJ won't offer a committed recruit because he doesn't want to be an enabler?
