Leadoff walk but nothing doing for UT in top of the 1st. Onto the bottom of the 1st against Ty Madden, an initial Rice commit who switched to Texas. Now it's time to make him rue that decision.

Antonio Cruz with an RBI single gives Rice a 1-0 lead! The Cruz brothers have 12 of Rice's 22 RBI this season. In case anyone is wondering, Jose's youngest child is a daughter. I'm not sure if she plays any sports or not but it's probably time to find out.

Great piece of hitting by Antonio Cruz. Was a 2 out, 0-2 count, hit a pretty good low breaking ball back up the middle.
