Lot of fun! Glad a good crowd got to see it as well.
And James Thompson getting under the other team’s skin. Haven’t seen that in a while. Couldn’t help but laugh when Minnie tried helping Darrington up after fouling him when he shot a 3, and Thompson pushed him away before he could. Bill Laimbeer is smiling somewhere.
Bad sportsmanship. Guys who get technical fouls, go after refs when calls don't go their way and clap in opponents faces are bad sports and not my type of player.
We will get y'all back. We lost the first 2 last season, then still landed the 2 seed and best you without Fletcher. I'm glad to be team who doesn't have players who try and fight when they get thrown to the ground on a blocked shot.
Right, because UT is the epitome of a "sportsmanship first" athletic department. Get out of here with that weak take...

I saw one of your football players flip off the EMU students while walking off the field after a targeting ejection. Was that good sportsmanship?
Or how about the brawl that their football team got into with CMU this past season... Sportsmanship at its finest.

RE: Game Day Toledo
BTW, trying to be analytic about this EMU MBB:
Our two best games this conference season were the first Kent game and this TOL game.
The common thread: Minnie's three point shooting. He was on fire vs. Kent and below is his 2nd half stats last night (as we scored 49 points in the 2nd half). Three for four in a half will usually kill the other team.
Eastern Michigan 49

This comment is NOT directed to the UT fan, but I like when JT4 gets aggressive, but just keep it clean.
I like when he plays with an edge to him, otherwise, he is a high skilled but underperforming big man.
I say, "Let James, be James..."

I don't think he did anything egregious last night. That "foul" (that wasn't called) by Willie Jackson was a bit excessive, and I don't blame Thompson for getting a little heated. The double technical was the right call. Jawing with the other players is part of the game...let's not act like Toledo is the bastion of sportsmanship. As long as he isn't throwing stupid cheap shot elbows or knees like he did early in his career, it's fine by me.

Steve that is 100% correct. If Elijah gets time to square his feet he can absolutely catch fire from three. And once he hits a couple his defense and rebounding pick up as well with the added adrenaline. Interesting play last night when he and James both set screens for Jackson and Elijah rolled out to set up for an open three.
