It will be a tough 4 games. Good chance even going 2-2 would lock up the NIT, I believe.
WKU on the road absolutely would've been tougher than UTSA on the road
Im not so sure about that. WKY might be a slightly better team, but the travel to San Antonio is a lot more difficult than to whatever po dunk town WKY is in.

WKU wants to avenge the loss and we had better not be overlooking them. It took one heck of a defensive effort to get back into the game last time. Bassey had one of his worst games of the season against us. I doubt that will happen this time. They will be very motivated.

Exactly, why the **** would we overlook them? Give us one good reason we would. I'll save you the time. There isn't one.

WKU has an actual game atmosphere, unlike UTSA. I think the crowd an environment plays a bigger role than the journey to get there. And I'd argue that a flight to San Antonio is probably easier than the bus or connecting flight to the po dunk town in WKU as well.

Big jump in the NET rankings, up to 81. 1-0 v Quad 1, 1-1 v Quad 2 (that Oregon State L hurts). So Miss has the potential to jump into Quad 2.
Just keep winning.

They have shown, multiple times this season, that they will crumble in the face of adversity. We've shown, also multiple times this season, that our team is capable of stepping up when the pressure is greatest -- and too often self-inflicted. (The UTSA game being he most obvious exception.)
All the more reason why I hope that we have the Ted packed on Saturday with loud and raucous fans. We need the Hillhumpers tasting fear right from the start.
Good assessment of WKU. They are Jeckyl and Hyde and we dont know which one will show up Saturday.

Yep. If we can win out, who knows. Helps if Syracuse and **gasp**, the stinky yellow school can keep winning.

There will be one squad who comes out of this four game grind battle tested and in first place. I love our Monarch squad, time to shine!
Why would we want to do such a thing? We hold a 2-game lead on the conference title, we shall do no such thing in throwing the records out!

RE: ODU vs WKU
Saturday 1:00 at the Ted: Western Kentucky (16-11, 9-5 CUSA). Stadium TV
Results since game 1: Marshall (69-70); FIU (76-77); FAU (72-68); Marshall (68-59); S Mississippi (66-63); La Tech (50-62); UTSA (96-88 OT); UTEP (76-59); Rice (92-85 2OT); N Texas (62-59); MTSU (71-63); UAB (60-68).
Last game: WKU got 23 pts (10-13 FG) and 10 RBs from Charles Bassey, but little else, falling to UAB 60-68 in Bowling Green. UAB went zone and WKU settled for jump shots (6-27 3s, 0-12 1st half) shooting .375 FG (.275 aside from Bassey). UAB was much more efficient- .469 FG and 14 second chance pts off just 8 ORBs. Josh Anderson had 15 pts as well.
CUSA stats: 70.9 pts (vs 67.0); .445 FG (.315 3s); .709 FT; +3.7 RB; A/TO= 0.95
Starters (UAB)
C Charles Bassey (6-11 245 Fr). 32.9 min.; .639 FG (5-10 3s); .780 FT; 10.9 RB; 2.3 blocks; 15.3 pts
G/F Jared Savage (6-5 200 Jr). 35.1 min.; .327 FG (34-102 3s); .702 FT; 11.1 pts
G Josh Anderson (6-6 195 So). 32.8 min.; .491 FG (10-35 3s); .702 FT; 2.1 assists; 2 steals; 14.7 pts
G Lamonte Bearden (6-3 170 Sr). 27.9 min.; .470 FG (8-21 3s); .750 FT; 3.2 RB; 4.2 assists; 8.9 pts
G Taveion Hollingsworth (6-2 165 So). 36.5 min.; .384 FG (20-63 3s); .771 FT; 12.1 pts
Bench
G Delano Banton (6-8 195 Fr). 15.0 min.; .450 FG (2-14 3s); .500 FT; 3.2 RB; 2.0 assists; 3.1 pts
F Tolu Smith (6-10 240 Fr). 10.5 min.; .469 FG; .567 FT; 3.3 RB; 3.4 pts
G Jake Ohmer (6-1 180 So). 11.9 min.; .306 FG (10-31 3s); 0.6 RB; 2.3 pts
Most talented, best 2-pt shooting line-up in CUSA. Bassey is 8-time FOW (last 4 in a row). Bassey is #1 FG%, RB/g and #3 blocks/g in CUSA play. Bearden is #1 A/TO. Thin bench, Ohmer is strictly a 3-pt shooter

Ok, ha, ha, ha, let’s keep our record but this game will be a war! Of all games I’ll have to miss too.

If memory serves, Ezikpe went toe to toe with him most of the second half.

What’s the chance of us figuring out how to get a white headband on 8000 fans at the Ted? BJ might score 50 points that night!

Every game against WKU is another chance to avenge the memory of our brief time in the Top 25 that one year.
Never forget.

Yep. I'm with ya there, Brother!
When we had that #25 next to our name, ODU was catapulted to the top line of the sports section with the other ranked teams.
It ended too soon.
