When is the last time two teams in one conference scored 12 points in a half on the same day?

We lose 61-40. Ugly. Thank you to UTEP for making everyone else in the conference forget about how badly we played this week in Florida. They are down 54-12 at the half.

Are these last 2 games symptomatic of the Freshmen hitting the mythical "wall" where they have to grind through the length of the season being so different than High School? Are the freshmen's legs "tired" at this point and is it affecting their shot? Is it more of a challenge of opponents recognizing the lack of a true point guard that can break a press as well as execute an offense that can effectively attack a zone that Rice has struggled with this year? The number of turnovers the last 2 games and the poor shooting seems to indicate that those two factors could be significant. I am glad these games were on the road so I did not have to witness the carnage at home!

I think your assumptions are correct.

I would actually say it’s tough to play on the rod in Florida, even for the top teams.

But if it is fatigue... then the sparse bonus play schedule may be just what’s needed to get our legs back
