Hope the CAA has a strong opening weekend. Top to bottom I think we have a strong conference with a good chance for 2 teams in NCAA tourney

They do happen to co-exist with our winless seasons, but I look at it as glass half full, not glass half empty.

We dropped it because of title IX in 2003, along with womens volleyball. We had it forever, now its just a club sport

Division I has 353 teams play Men's Basketball and 336 play Women's Volleyball. Assuming there aren't any teams in Division I for Women's Volleyball but not Men's Basketball, 4.8 percent of teams with Division I Men's Basketball do not have Division I Women's Volleyball.

Nope. Only club. It was dropped the same time as baseball, in 2003. Both are merely club sports now.

But we have squash! Who needs anything besides that, really?

Does the NCAA sponsor squash or is it essentially a well-funded club team as well?

Sure, plenty of club sports that schools support financially. And I'm aware of the "varsity club" concept. I just wanted to make sure I understood it's a separate entity sanctioning the competition.

Then yes, you're right. Squash is basically the university president's pet project, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets more funding than several of the NCAA-sanctioned sports.

Yeah, I had read about your president’s affinity for it. I mean, it’s cool to be a big player in a niche sport. No hate here.
