Still early but the Bearcat 9 have jumped out to an early lead on #22 UConn 3-0 in the top of the 3. Joey Weimer hit a three run shot over the left field fence.
Edit: Now 4-1 Bearcats after six innings.

The progress of this Bearcat team is pretty remarkable. I was able to listen to the last couple of innings of the OSU game on gobearcats.com while travelling out of town and it sounds as if many of the Buckeye fans headed for the exits early after UC opened up a six run lead and then held on for the third consecutive win over OSU in as many seasons. Two of three from #22 UCONN on the road this past weekend was also impressive.
I'm hoping for great weather Saturday and encourage fellow Bearcats to pack the baseball game against UCF @ 4 pm before heading over to Nippert @ 6 pm. Go 'Cats!
Great evening to be in Marge Schott Stadium and a win over X always feels good.
UC has worn the retro uniforms before but I have to say UA did an outstanding job on those, replicating the ones from the Sandy Koufax era if I'm not mistaken.

Tough way to lose; the Bearcats were down 3-0 when I had last checked in during the 5th inning.
UCF is here for the weekend and they're pretty good. My guess is we may have a rain out or two but Saturday weather looks fine and the 4 p.m. start works out well with the Spring Game @ 6. Here's hoping we can fill some empty seats in support of Googins and company. I believe he's building a team-- a program even, that will be very competitive in a tough AAC.

Miami is no slouch. They are now 26-6 on the season, probably the favs to win the MAC this season. Here is the current AAC baseball standings:
UCF is 21-12 on the season, but I suspect they played a top shelf OOC schedule. There are no easy wins in this baseball conference. RPI rankings of each school:
What, Tulsa, SMU and Temple don't even have baseball teams?
Just found out that Florida and Vanderbilt are members of the AAC for women's lacrosse and that Sacramento State, San Diego State and Old Dominion are members of the AAC for women's rowing.

Yep, Tulsa and SMU cut baseball back in 1980 due to budget constraints. Temple cut theirs in 2014.
I would figure given their locales that SMU and Tulsa would field baseball teams, but I guess not. While the schools are small (Tulsa only has an enrollment of 3,300 students) they are in a warm climate and they have wealthy alums and students.
