JMU's RPI ascension by week since the beginning of the calendar year FWIW...

Feb. 15: 35
Feb. 8: 42
Feb. 1: 47
Jan. 25: 58
Jan. 18: 52
Jan. 11: 75
Jan. 4: 96

I've said if they win out to the CAA final they could still get an atlarge. I'm still hoping we might see a vote or two in the poll towards the end of the season. That said the record is great, but no RPI top 75 win, and 3 losses to over #100 RPI teams.

If they could of gotten a quality top 40 win, or even not lost to #180 Hampton things would look much different. That's why these early season OOC games matter to all of are teams.

Agree with this. I think the Hampton was a huge blow to our chances of an at large. I think it's possible we still get one. In order to do that, I think we're going to have to win the rest of our CAA games and make the CAA title game. I think anything less than that and we'll probably be looking at the NIT.

The reason to watch the game when it was out of reach, was our subs leading a rush towards chicken nuggets. They scored 15 points in a three minute span at the end of the game! What hurt us was that Charleston was not in a hurry to score and burned the clock to put us with less than 30 seconds for our final possession. Dang coach, put the subs in earlier!

Women up to a 11 seed.

USA Today Bracketology

That's in the at large range, but I think another loss before the CAA final likely kills that opportunity.

Bench points: 40. Half of those: Jackie 11, Eleanore 9. How about THAT, sports fans? And all of Eleanore's were scored in 8 minutes! I am liking the look of that young lady. Actually, the bench seemed to be having a rollicking good time in the last quarter. I noticed lots of smiles and some good communication among them. Next year doesn't look so bad at all...

Looking at the stat sheet is very instructive. Us: 32 pts in the paint, 25 off TO, 13 second chance (not up to our usual), 40 bench points, 12 fast break, plus 8 blocks (5 of those Kayla's), 11 steals, 21 assists, and 47 rebounds. CoC: 10 in the paint, 7 off TO, 4 second chance, 13 bench points and 32 rebounds, plus 6 steals, 19 assists, and 1 puny block. Individually they were not bad players, but as a team they pretty much sucked. The only reason they aren't in the basement where they usually dwell is that Hofstra is already there. I have heard rumors that their coach's head could be on the chopping block.

Watching the UNCW Towson game this evening. Towson up by 12 in the 4th quarter. Doesn't look like S Parker is playing for UNCW, don't know why. Without her UNCW looks a bit lost. Towson as rough as usual.

I would love that! But I feel like that team was more highly regarded. I'm thinking a 12 seed. We could still have a beatable opponent at that seed though.

Charleston’s. Candice Jackson.

Here’s another interesting stat—-half of the JMU bench points came from two players. Guess who? Jackie and................wait for it.............................Eleanore. Yep. 11 for Jackie, 9 for Eleanore = 20! And Eleanore got hers in just 8 minutes. I’m liking her better the more I see of her.

There's a reason Eleanore was our top recruiting target of this freshman class. She's getting better and better as she becomes more comfortable in her role and adjusts to the style/speed of play.

She is the best 3 point shooter on the team and she has other skills that hopefully we will see when she plays more. We have so many good guards on this team sharing minutes, it's difficult to spread that out to the freshman. Her bigger body is getting her on the court for some limited time to help the front line. I just want her to be enjoying her overall experience at JMU and not be too homesick. She seems to be smiling a bit more these days and I like it when I notice Logan sitting next to her on the bench. Logan does so much for this team whether she is on the court or not.

I see Logan as a future coach. She is always either talking to one of the coaches or one of the younger players. I wonder if she's aiming for a GA position somewhere next year. I'd love for it to be here, of course, but Ashley Perez has that pretty well sewed up...or maybe she'll have her Master's by then and move on? A really good place for her, if not here, would be ODU with Coach Nikki, one of the best younger coaches in the business. Seriously though, it's kind of a given that point guards make some of the best coaches...and why not? They have to run the floor, so it's their business to see everything.
