If true, and I'm sure it is, then I wonder if this could have been affecting his game and maybe even mental state. I've got PF and it hurts, couldn't imagine playing D1 basketball on it. Wonder if he tried to hide it for a bit and was in pain and it came across as not being ready.

How long have you had it because I can give you a quick plan of action to cure it if you need it. Rest doesn't do it.

The young man is going to be a stud.

We need someone in that mold.

An actual prototypical small forward.

Putting Martin and Brewton there just kills us when thorton goes out

Probably his best position potentially is PG. He sees the floor better than the other two fr guards, can develop to post up a smaller guard & statically he's the better shooter. He handles the ball well. Also his size & strength enables him to play the small forward. Just needs confidence, consistency & PT.

I agree, his best position is most likely PG.

You are what you can guard and I don't see Jones guarding Point guards...

Can he bring the ball up the floor and start the offense...Absolutely. But I see him guarding SFs and we will need someone else out there to guard PGs.

I think him and Tyler could blend together like Randy Culpepper and Julyan Stone from UTEP.

I agree completely...

Tyler guards the PG and Jones guards 2 or 3 but handles starting the offense...But that is so far off I cant even see that right now.

Jones and Penny likely need to mend some fences to get there.

Few years. I wear inserts that have helped a lot. Doesn't hurt near as much as it used to, although if I don't wear the inserts for a few days I can quickly tell that it is still around.

Give it to us. Mine ebbs and flows. If I run it aggravates it.

Fair?

The other 2 freshmen guards were given time and free reign to do whatever they wanted before finding their way to the bench. They have had their games in the beginning of the season, let Jones have one.

Yes, fair. During NO game this year has ANY player been given free reign to play as many minutes as he chooses and show us what he has. Certainly not the other 2 freshmen. You can't have college players checking themselves into games whenever they want, or doing whatever they want on the court. I said it sounds like it could be fun, but it's actually ridiculous.

Like you said, you get my point... Just saying, how many 20+ minute games has Harris and Lomax had each and how many has Jones had? Anyone watching can see Jones has much more potential, so if Lomax and Harris can both get 20+ minute games (including last night), Jones should get some as well.

Not if he is not engaged and giving it 100%. I’ll leave that up to the coaches.

Yep, the one thing you have to remember about it is if its has stiffened and you step on it and you feel pain, you are reaggravating it or reinjuring it. So take note of anytime or pattern that you feel pain. For me it was after basketball activity or when I woke up in the morning.

Before you take a step after sitting down post activity or getting out of bed you gotta stretch it. I used a tennis ball but someone once told me something softer like a racquetball. Keep it with you. You stretch it by rolling the ball across the muscle until it feels loose again. Have 2 or 3 balls. If you work at a desk, roll it there. Sitting on the couch, computer, table, keep rolling. But especially when its stiff.

A more expensive option that I did the first time when it was severe was go to this store that Im trying to google and it may have been called Baumer's (it may have been called Birkenstock at time). Its a little shoe store by the Mercedes dealership on Poplar but before you get to the expressway. I bought this shoe called the Bostonian. It was like $200 but wow. It had a really high hump right in the PF area and gave you great support. If you can wear that when stiff, that helps too.

And lastly, the muscle is inflammed. For that if you dont have any fears about pills, take 800 mg of ibuprofen (4 pills) about 3 times a day. You can do this for a week while treating the muscle. My sister is a doctor and she told me it was ok to do this.

I have done these things before after having it twice and it was gone in a week or less after being in pain for months the first time and weeks the second time. The first time I pretty much only used the shoe. The second time I used the ball/ibuprofen.
