They do not "make sure conservative viewpoints aren't lost." They promote viewpoint diversity and constructive disagreement, so all sides of an issue can be considered in an academic environment.

Nope, it's about to go away. That hearing got postponed because of reasons.

In reality, Florida, Florida St looked around and said crap. Then made calls to their friends and said, told them "UCF are good people, I hope you can let this go."

I don't think there was any other way this was going to end. Whittaker was the provost (i.e. the guy who oversaw all of the money that the university spent) when this happened, so it was hard to imagine him surviving as president...

It's insane how true this is. I recently got into a debate with a guy I went to high school with who is a welder in Alabama.

He constantly posts about how much (bread) he is making. And one day he posted "It's stupid to go to college when you can get a trade. I make so much more money than all of you jobless degree holders with hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loans."

So I posted the average job salary for a welder which was like $36,000 a year. And I posted the average salary of my field which is $112,000. Then he goes on this stupid rant about Democrats, inflation, my field being (desk work), and how a welder can make just as much money. And I was like really man? One Welder in the world working on some random oil rig is probably making a lot of money so that makes going to college stupid?

It's crazy how anti-education this country is becoming.

Any welder around here worth his salt is making about twice that with 3-5 years experience.

In which case yes he should resign. It's an oversight issue that seems more accidental than nefarious. However whoever should have been double checking it made a mistake that should cost them their job. Unfortunate that his position had changed to President.
