they're playing a very dangerous game with the assumption our debt will continually be funded from others buying said debt....

they're selling this country's soul with a smile on their face....

having said that, when 0-care was being discussed and finally implemented, what happened to our credit rating and who championed that CF???

How much of your money do you want to give to the government Mach? It's not a tax problem it's a spending problem and it applies to both parties. The government is bloated beyond reason and no one has the guts to cut spending before we go over the cliff.

Dems are in control of the house. Propose massive spending cuts instead of massive spending increases like free healthcare for everyone, free salary even for people who won't work, and other new green deal crap.

To address the OP, I hate the debt, but I have accepted that it will never be paid off. It will keep expanding at an ever faster rate (deficits will increase every year no matter who is president) and our currency will be destroyed through inflation. I hope as a country we muddle through the crisis (its possible it might be a slow decades long decline instead of a instant collpase)and institute sound money policy with our next currency. I just do what i can to prepare a bit and plan for my family.

The Bush Tax Cuts and The Trump Tax Cuts are the reason we are in 22 Trillion in debt. You CAN'T and WON'T cut spending yet our government goes farther into debt at 3 billion a day. Yes WE NEED TO INCREASE TAXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not cut them for the rich!

Someone was in between those 2, Bush and Trump, who did pretty damn good job of spending. Think he holds the gold medal in the event in fact.

I'd be fine with increasing taxes if it was tied to paying down the debt. Nobody is going to increase taxes to eliminate cars and planes, meat, choo choo trains, rainbows, and unicorns.

Tax Cuts for the 1% and Corporations.

Middle Class in some cases went up to pay for it and to keep the cost at 1.5 trillion.

Disgusting and more than me should be disgusted about it too!

By enacting policies you mean allowing people to keep more of what they earn. At some point spending must be cut, social security, medicare, and other entitlement spending must be overhauled, and further programs such as the new green deal must be nipped in the bud.
Spending must be cut. You cannot continue to tax people into oblivion as Democrats tend to do.

And when democrats control everything they enact policies that explode the debt. The exception was Bill Clinton's first two years and he ultimately balanced the budget. But democrats didn't control everything when the budget was balanced. He had a republican congress for that. And comparing President Bill to any of the democrats currently in the field is like comparing Ronald Reagan to Joe Stalin.

Yes GWB unbalanced it. But remember, he had 9/11 and the dot.com crash to kick off his administration. But he also had a divided congress for most of his first two years. When republicans got control of both houses in 2002, we had a year of basically flat deficit, and then 3 years of significant deficit reduction. You can look that up.

Then democrats retook both houses of congress in 2006 and the deficit ballooned. It went off the charts under Obama, and then started back down once republicans retook the house.

The reality is that with the exception of two years under Clinton and 4 years under GWB, deficits explode when either party controls everything. I'm prefer gridlock to either party controlling everything.
