Texas Tech will play in the Frisco Tx Classic this season and the Classic at the new Texas Rangers ballpark in 2021 which includes the following teams TCU, Texas, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Texas Tech.

Just announced today we will play in the brand new Round Rock classic in 2020. The 4 teams invited: Texas Tech, Houston, Tennessee and Stanford. Should be a fun weekend of baseball at Dell Diamond. I know Austin area Red Raiders are excited about that weekend.

I assume this means we won't play in the Minute Maid Classic in Houston for awhile.

Honestly, I'm surprised so few attempts have been made to copy the Minute Maid tournament over the last 20 years. But it seems like a natural that the P5 will try to take control and only invite each other over time. Baseball will be segregated the football and basketball have over time. Teams like Rice and Houston just can't spend the money the SEC and Texas's of the world will.

IIRC, Rice and UH are playing in the Minute Maid Classic with TCU, Baylor and A&M.

The Frisco Classic includes Texas Tech, Sam Houston, Miss St and Nebraska. Lot of good baseball played by the mid-majors like UH, Sam Houston and Rice.

Baseball doesn't need Texas Longhorn/Texas Aggie $$$'s rather a Manager who can recruit to places like Rice, UH and Texas Tech.

College Baseball allows a school like Coastal to win the CWS.

Agreed. The NCAA's playoff format in baseball and basketball gives small schools a chance. If football had the same type of playoff structure the landscape of the sport would change.

Even though I am a fan of a couple of P5 teams, I agree with the above post completely!!!
