And somehow that excuses Hurley for going to the other side of the arena to berate fans?
You constantly see coaches have banter with fans sitting behind their bench.
Across the arena? 100% wrong by Hurley. Must be addressed by UConn.
If Hardaway did that, I would want it addressed by our administration.
I agree at what point can a coach walk around the arena addressing fans in an aggressive manner
If he had any sack he'd climb up in the stands with them and see what happens. He knows he's safe on the court. Either go all the way or STFU.
Eh, he was giving what he got. It is ok for fans to razz him from the stands, it is fine for him to razz fans from the court. No reason to turn it into violence.
Meh, the coaches and players should not be engaging opposing fans. If something gets said that's waaaay out of line let the refs / security deal with it.
Can’t have coaches or players engaging the fans. Look at what’s going on in high school ball now. Don’t need an all out free for all.

I certainly wouldn't want our coach to do it, but I enjoy having someone else's coach get upset.

What did Hurley say to the fans?
I guess Penny wouldn't engage him like Haith did so he had to try the fans

Yeah I get that.
I also think it's a poor look and that the AAC should absolutely look into it. No doubt countless others would have looked into it if Penny did what he did.

We should be able to yell at coaches and them at us. Always been part of the game. Just keep it clean. Kinda ...
Who was the little bald headed toad that coached Marquette and UT. Worse than Hurley or Huggins. We used to give him hell ... Kevin something ... Real piece a ...

Garber says he was 2 rows behind the man Hurley was yelling at.
This John Martin - he has a great reputation for credibility from what I understand.
Also when there was a time out at 22-12 Martin ran to UCONN bench taunting them. Makes me wonder now if UT players "wanting to fight" might have been provoked by our players also.
So we have mouthy players whose own coach said lacked toughness after our last game. That's something to be proud of.
Interesting that a Memphis fan would refer to a four year Memphis player from Memphis as mouthy and then essentially infer that our own players are the problem and that Penny’s coachspeak must mean they are truly not tough.
While I am all for recognizing when other teams play better and when a foul called on Memphis was right, with fans like this, who needs opposing fans.
Martin acted like hundreds of other kids. The extra flexing and talking is part and parcel of our game. Duke kids did it last night to Virginia. I didn’t see Tony Bennett acting like a complete *******.
There are instances when a fan, typically sitting behind the opponents bench can cross a line. And there are instances when players can too. Martin did not, and our kids did not. Hurley was wrong. Period. Our kids are fine.
Glad we have so many ready to defend utk and portray us as mouthy. Just glad you didn’t call these Memphis kids uppity.

Remember how Mike Davis from UAB and the fans would jaw at each other but it was more in fun than aggresive.

Hurley is a cray baby who ******* and complains on every damn play that doesn’t go his way. He pouts and throws little childish temper tantrums. In addition to that he’s a ***** and a ***** rolled up in one. He’s a fake tough guy.
