It's probably not the best idea to announce your bid in a blinding snowstorm. The crowd is freezing its butt off, and while they're trying their best to be loud, they're probably also saying 'please god finish up quickly so we can get inside and get warm!'

You can't really see the snow that great in this photo, but her hair was covered in snow by the end of her speech.

It will be interesting to see how she does. I think she has a chance to separate herself from some of the other women if she is a good campaigner. Obviously some of the other Democrats are already worried about her because of the stories spreading about how hard she is on her staffers.

I heard her notebook pitch has a wicked break to it. Practically unhittable when she is 'on'.

She was one of the few that didn't come out of the Kavananugh hearings looking like a total moron. I'm reading she didn't mention the red new deal in her announcement, and doesn't support medicaid 4 all.

Of the declared candidates thus far, I'd personally rank them (1) Harris (2) Klobuchar and everyone else way behind those two. Of the ones to come, the only ones for now I think I would consider voting for are Biden and Beto. I'm basing this primarily on who I think has the best chance to win.

Still early though and a lot could change in the months to come.

I'll never understand the beato phenomenon. losing a senate race seems to get you a lot in the dem party these days.

I'd say they are the Conniver and the Driver. I guess Ft Bend has a 'thing' for big flashy white teeth --- that seems to be the best type of record Beto can run on. His bill passage record is the same number as his trying to run away from a DWI wreck record -- both stand at 1.

Beto's teeth aren't so great I'd say. He needs to find the same plastic surgeon as Trump. I don't like much about Trump but the one thing I'm impressed with for him is the dental work he's had done is good without being over the top (i.e., Matt Dillon's character in Something About Mary).
