Well that 500 stunk! Byron was riding in 4th place, looking strong until he was crashed out of the race around lap 60 by maybe the worst driver in NASCAR Ricky Stenhouse (Wrecky Spinhouse) Jr. Byron finished dead last in 40th.

03-banghead Well our driver can’t catch a break. He was running second with two laps left when a car cut under him, cutting his tire and giving him a flat. He finished 20th. He had a car that coulda won.

FONTANA, CALIFORNIA:
Byron wasn’t a factor all day long. He started 21st and finished 15th. Said he battled a loose car all day long.
After 3 races he is in 20th place in Championship Standings.

PHOENIX: Byron picked up his first Top 10 finish of the season finishing 10th. Hopefully this gets positive momentum going.

NASCAR returning to the track a week from Sunday.
They’ve been running iRacing for a little over a month. Basically the drivers are racing each other on simulators “souped up video games.” Byron won three of the five video game races.

Looking forward to the guys getting back on the track.

DARLINGTON:
NASCAR was back to racing today. Willy B finished 1st at the end of the first stage of racing, earning 10 points for the championship race and 1 playoff point. He had a fast car, but early in the second stage blew a right rear tire that put him in the wall basically ending his day. Though he managed to get back on the track and make laps to finish the race in 35th.

Next race is Wednesday night from Darlington again.

William finished 12th tonight after starting 34th. Not a bad run for him.

It moved him into 16th place in the Championship standings, so that’s good.
Yesterday’s race was so frustrating. Seemed every time he pitted he lost 3-6 positions on the track. That needs to be fixed.
I think he had a Top 10 car, but was fighting track position all night.

Can’t wait for the Coca Cola 600 on Sunday. Willy B’s LU car looks SO good. I expect him to be very competitive at his home track.

On a side note, my other two favorite drivers are #34 Michael McDowell and #38 John Hunter Nemechek.

The NASCAR app allows you to listen in on the team scanners. It was cool to listen to McDowell lead his team in prayer from inside his car before the start of the race.

You have noticed that too? His pit stops have been consistently dreadful all season. He drops 3-5 positions regularly whenever he pits. Sunday was a disaster with the broken valve stem taking him out of contention.
They really need to get things straightened out. I thought this was gonna be his breakout season.

I don't follow NASCAR but didn't he do well in the virtual races? That would pretty much explain everything if all he was relying on was his driving skills to win virtual races without worrying about his crew.

Nah, video games don’t really translate to on track performance.
The fact that he was a proven winner in the truck and exfinity cars shows he has what it takes to win.

MARTINSVILLE, VA
Racing at Martinsville Speedway last night, Willy B Speed met again with poor pit stop performances droping him from 5th to 10th and 7th to 16th during the race. He managed to work his way back up to come in 8th at the finish of the race. Overall good performance by Willy B, but still a lot of improvement needs to be made.

He did move into 16th in playoff points. So now he’s the last driver in at this point.

MIAMI:
Byron started 20th and worked his way up front running in the Top 10 most of the night. He finished the first segment in 8th, finished the second segment in 5th, climbed up to 4th but faded a bit at the end finishing 9th. It was a good race and I believe he should move up one spot in the playoff points to 15th.

This was the first sporting event to have fans back in the stands.

TALLADEGA:
Willy B Speed was leading the race with about 30 laps to go and got shuffled back to 20th place. He rebounded to finish 11th. He was competitive all day. Just couldn’t get into the position for the win at the end.
